The FAG 33010 single-row tapered roller bearing, with dimensions of 50 × 80 × 24 mm, can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial loads on one side.
The FAG 33010 tapered roller bearing is designed as a complete rolling bearing and consists of an inner ring with a roller cage and a separable outer ring. The tapered rolling elements roll on the inclined raceways and are guided by the flange of the inner ring. This design enables the bearing to withstand combined forces. This bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 for general use in mechanical engineering.
This rolling bearing is used for combined loads where radial forces and unilateral axial forces act simultaneously. As a single tapered roller bearing can only accommodate axial loads from one direction, the 33010 tapered roller bearing is usually mounted in a mirror-image configuration with a second mating bearing. This paired arrangement creates a rigid bearing arrangement with precise guidance, which can be precisely adjusted to the required operating conditions.
The built-in sheet steel cage guides the individual rollers at a uniform distance and prevents direct contact between the rolling elements. This reduces friction and ensures smooth guidance during operation. The metal cage design is dimensionally stable and withstands a wide temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. For the open design, users select a suitable lubricant and an appropriate external housing seal depending on the operating environment.
The dimensions are 50 mm bore diameter, 80 mm outer diameter and 24 mm overall width. These dimensions define the installation space required on the shaft and within the bearing housing, and determine the appropriate fit.
Tapered roller bearings are not designed to be self-retaining. The outer ring can be fitted separately, whilst the inner ring is fitted onto the shaft together with the set of rollers. This separability simplifies installation and allows for precise axial adjustment of the bearing clearance within the housing.
Thanks to the angled raceways, this design can accommodate high radial forces whilst simultaneously withstanding axial forces from a single direction. To accommodate axial forces from both directions, designers fit pairs of bearings opposite each other in an O or X configuration, so as to guide the shaft in both directions without any play.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The integrated sheet steel cage retains its strength within this temperature range. The choice of a temperature-resistant lubricant is also crucial for ensuring actual temperature resistance during operation.
Classification as P0, PN or ABEC 1 denotes the standard tolerance for dimensional and running accuracy of rolling bearings. It defines standardised manufacturing tolerances for bore, outer diameter and width dimensions, and meets the requirements of standard-compliant mechanical and plant engineering.
As no factory-fitted sealing washers are installed, lubrication is carried out as required prior to commissioning using grease or lubricating oil. Protection against dirt and moisture is provided by the housing design, for example by means of radial shaft seals or labyrinth seals.
