The European REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals) has been in force since June 1, 2007. REACH primarily affects manufacturers, importers and distributors of chemical products, but under certain conditions also concerns companies that use chemical substances in the broadest sense.
Rolling bearings are products according to the definition in Article 3 Number 3 of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH), since the specific shape or design determines the function to a greater extent than the chemical composition. Any existing lubricants or substances for preservation are an integral part of the product.
Products as such are not subject to registration under REACH
There is a registration requirement for substances in articles if they are to be released from them under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions (Article 7 (1)). This is usually not the case with roller bearings.
Furthermore, there is an obligation to notify substances of very high concern in articles if they are contained in the article in a concentration of more than 0.1 percent by weight and are manufactured or imported with more than 1 tonne per year (Article 7 paragraph 2). A substance is considered to be of very high concern if it meets the criteria of Article 57 (e.g. CMR substances) and has been identified in accordance with Article 59, i.e. This means that it has been included in a so-called candidate list for inclusion in Annex XIV of the REACH regulation (list of substances subject to authorization).
If kugellager-online GmbH & Co. KG uses a substance that is subject to notification, we will list it here.
