The FAG 32219 single-row tapered roller bearing, with main dimensions of 95 × 170 × 45.5 mm, withstands high radial and axial loads in continuous industrial operation.
The 32219 tapered roller bearing is designed as an open, single-row roller bearing. Thanks to its tapered raceways and rollers, the design is specifically engineered to withstand combined loads. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along the inner ring raceway and maintains the correct spacing between them. With a bore of 95 mm, an outside diameter of 170 mm and a width of 45.5 mm, this standard FAG design is suitable for demanding shaft diameters in general mechanical engineering.
This bearing is primarily used where single-sided axial forces occur in conjunction with high radial loads. Typical applications include shaft mountings with combined load directions and rigid bearing arrangements with defined guidance. As a single tapered roller bearing can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, in practice they are usually fitted in pairs in an O or X arrangement with a second bearing positioned opposite.
Tapered roller bearings are not self-retaining. The inner ring with the roller set can be fitted separately from the outer ring, which simplifies handling during installation. You only set the required operating clearance or bearing clearance during assembly via the mating bearing. You should also note the permissible operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees and ensure a suitable external lubricant supply for the open bearing system.
As a single-row roller bearing with tapered rollers and raceways, this design accommodates simultaneous radial and unilateral axial forces. The bearing consists of a separable inner ring and outer ring with a guided roller cage and complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
With an internal diameter of 95 mm, an external diameter of 170 mm and a total width of 45.5 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. These metric dimensions define the fit on the shaft and in the housing, and allow for the replacement of bearing units of the same dimensions.
The sheet steel cage maintains a uniform spacing between the tapered rollers and prevents direct contact between the rolling elements. The design is highly robust and is resistant to common lubricants as well as thermal stresses within the specified range of -30 to +120 degrees.
A single tapered roller bearing can only accommodate axial forces in one direction. As any radial load on the bearing generates an axial force component by design, a counter-bearing fitted in a mirror-image configuration absorbs these forces. This enables a play-free guidance system to be achieved.
Unlike many radial ball bearings, the bearing clearance on this tapered roller bearing is not set at the factory. Fitters only set the required operating clearance or a specific preload during installation by positioning the bearing rings axially in relation to one another.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees. To ensure long-term operation within this temperature range, it is essential to select a lubricant that is approved for the specific thermal load in the system.
