The FAG 1310 -K-TVH-C3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing, measuring 50 × 110 × 27 mm, compensates for misalignment and has a tapered bore.
The 1310 -K-TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a continuous hollow-spherical outer ring raceway. This design means that the bearing automatically adjusts itself within the housing in the event of shaft deflection or misalignment. Designed as an open bearing without an integrated seal, this FAG variant allows for targeted lubrication via the surrounding system. The integrated polyamide cage ensures quiet guidance of the rolling elements.
Design engineers and maintenance personnel use this design primarily in bearing locations where operational shaft deflection or misalignment between the housing seats occurs. Thanks to its double-row ball arrangement, the unit accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering as well as in long drive shafts, where manufacturing tolerances or elastic deformations in the structure need to be compensated for.
The suffix ‘K’ denotes a tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. This allows mounting on truncated shafts or, by means of clamping or withdrawal sleeves, on smooth cylindrical shafts. When the inner ring is pushed onto the shaft, it expands, which specifically reduces the existing bearing clearance. For this reason, the bearing is factory-fitted with a slightly increased radial bearing clearance (C3), so that the required operating clearance remains after the force-fit assembly.
Double-row self-aligning ball bearings of this design feature a common spherical outer ring raceway, which enables them to automatically compensate for angular misalignment between the inner and outer rings. The component features a tapered bore, a dimensionally stable polyamide cage and the extended clearance class C3 for demanding installation conditions.
The main dimensions are 50 mm bore diameter at the smallest cone diameter, 110 mm outside diameter and 27 mm width. The bearing is manufactured to standard tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1) from hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6.
The suffix consists of three characteristics: the letter K indicates a tapered inner ring bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. The abbreviation TVH refers to the polyamide cage. The designation C3 indicates the slightly increased radial clearance.
When mounted on a mounting sleeve or a tapered shaft seat, the inner ring of the bearing is displaced axially and thereby elastically expanded. This process measurably reduces the radial bearing clearance. The initially greater radial clearance of the C3 group prevents the bearing from running under stress once it has been secured.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The material of the polyamide cage sets the upper limit here. To ensure smooth operation, the temperature resistance of the externally supplied lubricating oil or grease must also be taken into account.
Open roller bearings do not come fitted with manufacturer-supplied sealing washers. Lubrication with grease or oil is carried out directly via the respective bearing housing, which also acts as a seal against external dirt and moisture. Before commissioning, the component must be filled correctly with the specified lubricant.
