The SKF 6410 open deep-groove ball bearing (50x130x31 mm) supports shafts under combined radial and axial loads in industrial applications.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6410 from SKF is designed for rotational movements in machinery and drives. The components are made from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6), which ensures high dimensional stability under load. As the outer ring is designed without a flange or ring groove, the unit fits into cylindrical housing bores. The combination of deep raceway geometry and optimised manufacturing ensures consistent concentricity at both moderate and higher speeds.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians primarily use this bearing in applications where radial forces predominate, but where alternating axial forces in both directions must also be accommodated. Typical applications are found in industrial bearing arrangements with a separate lubrication circuit. The sheet steel cage ensures that the rolling elements are held at a uniform distance apart. This reduces internal friction and promotes smooth running during continuous, long-term operation in technical installations.
As an open rolling bearing, this design has no integrated sealing washers. It is therefore particularly suitable for applications where the housing is externally sealed or where oil or recirculating lubrication provides the lubrication. With its standard radial clearance and standard tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the component is compatible with standard fit selections for shafts and housings. The permissible temperature range is from -20 to +120 degrees.
As a single-row radial ball bearing without seals and without a flange or groove on the outer ring, this design accommodates combined forces. The components are made of 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the rolling elements are guided by a sheet steel cage.
The bore for the shaft seat measures 50 mm, the external diameter is 130 mm and the overall width is 31 mm. These key dimensions determine the required fit in the bearing seat.
Open designs allow direct contact with the lubricant inside the housing, for example in oil-bath lubrication. However, they require a clean installation environment and external sealing of the bearing housing to protect against dust and moisture.
Standard bearing clearance refers to the factory-set radial clearance in the unmounted state, without a designation such as C3. It is designed to ensure that a safe residual clearance is maintained after the bearing has been pressed onto standard shaft and housing seats.
A guided sheet-steel cage is fitted to keep the rolling elements spaced apart. This type of cage is resistant to common industrial lubricants and covers the bearing’s operating range.
Operating temperatures between -20 and +120 degrees are permissible. Within these limits, the roller bearing steel used and the sheet metal cage retain their mechanical strength and dimensional stability.
