The FAG NJ2211 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row support bearing with a brass cage, measuring 55 x 100 x 25 mm, designed for high radial loads.
The NJ2211 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings is designed as a single-row radial roller bearing for demanding industrial applications. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the design can accommodate high radial forces. With dimensions of 55 mm bore, 100 mm outer diameter and 25 mm width, this version offers standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. The open bearing has an outer ring without a lubrication bore and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees.
This rolling bearing is primarily used as a support bearing in mechanical bearing arrangements where high radial forces are the main consideration. The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. As a result, the bearing absorbs axial forces from one direction, whilst the inner ring remains axially movable to one side. This feature facilitates length compensation in the event of temperature-induced shaft expansion.
The brass cage (-M1) guides the cylindrical rollers reliably and is suitable for applications involving high levels of vibration and dynamic loads. As the inner ring can be removed from one side, the bearing can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing. As an open design, the unit requires an external lubricant supply via oil or grease in the adjacent structure, which is also intended to prevent the ingress of dirt particles.
The NJ design features two solid flanges on the outer ring and one solid flange on the inner ring. This enables the component to act as a support bearing. In addition to high radial forces, it also absorbs axial guidance forces from one direction, whilst allowing axial displacement in the opposite direction.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 55 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm. These key dimensions determine the fits on the shaft and in the housing bore.
The brass cage, identified by the suffix M1, maintains a stable clearance between the rolling elements. Brass is characterised by its high strength and performs well in applications involving severe vibrations, rapid changes in speed or dynamic loads.
The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. The thermal stability of the external lubricant used is also a crucial factor for actual continuous operation.
The standard radial bearing clearance (CN) refers to the radial clearance provided by the manufacturer when the bearing is in its unassembled state. It compensates for the dimensional restriction caused by standard shaft and housing fits during normal operation.
As an open-type bearing, it has no integrated seals. Lubrication must therefore be provided via the surrounding structure using a suitable grease or oil in order to minimise friction and wear.
