The SKF NJ311 ECP cylindrical roller bearing (55x120x29 mm) can withstand high radial loads and supports shafts axially in one direction.
The SKF NJ311 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing with a 55 mm bore, an outer diameter of 120 mm and a width of 29 mm. In the Explorer version, the roller bearing features an optimised internal design to accommodate high radial forces in demanding industrial applications. Thanks to two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring, the component functions as a support bearing. This enables the shaft to be axially fixed on one side whilst still allowing movement in the opposite direction.
This cylindrical roller bearing primarily accommodates heavy radial loads whilst simultaneously providing axial guidance for the shaft in one direction. It is specifically used in bearing arrangements where operational length expansion of the shaft must be compensated for. The inner ring, which can be removed from one side, facilitates the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings. As an open design, the roller bearing requires lubrication via the housing and operates within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The NJ design is characterised by two flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring, which ensures that axial displacement in one direction is maintained. The integrated polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers quietly and has a low weight. With standard radial bearing clearance, dimensional accuracy P0/PN (ABEC 1) and running accuracy P6 (ABEC 3), the bearing is suitable for guide bearings without a lubrication bore in the outer ring.
With an internal diameter of 55 mm, an external diameter of 120 mm and a width of 29 mm, the cylindrical roller bearing complies with standardised key dimensions. These dimensions facilitate the design of bearing seats in machine designs. The outer ring is designed without a ring groove or lubrication bore.
In the NJ design, the bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables it to function as a support bearing: in addition to high radial forces, it also accommodates axial guidance forces from one direction, whilst allowing axial displacement of the shaft in the opposite direction.
The suffix ECP denotes an optimised internal design with a polyamide cage. The cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low running noise and reduces the mass of the rolling element set. This minimises inertial forces, whilst the material is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. In terms of tolerances, this design combines dimensional accuracy in accordance with Class P0/PN or ABEC 1 with increased running accuracy in accordance with Class P6 or ABEC 3, ensuring smooth operation with optimised mounting dimensions.
As an open-type bearing, this component has no integrated seals. Protection against dirt is provided by external housing seals, whilst the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding housing. As the outer ring has no lubrication bore, grease or lubricating oil enters the rolling element chamber from the side.
The roller geometry and the single-sided flange design on the inner ring allow the inner ring to be removed axially. This simplifies both installation and maintenance, as the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately onto the shaft and into the housing bore.
