The FAG QJ213-MPA four-point bearing, with dimensions of 65 × 120 × 23 mm, accommodates high axial forces on both sides whilst maintaining a narrow overall width.
The QJ213-MPA four-point contact bearing is a special radial ball bearing designed for shaft diameters of 65 mm and an outer diameter of 120 mm. As a single-row bearing with four-point contact, it guides shafts axially in both directions, either without play or with defined guidance. FAG’s manufacturing process complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). As this design is an open bearing, it can be integrated directly into existing lubrication circuits.
This bearing is primarily used where high axial loads from varying directions occur, but where the installation space in the axial direction remains limited. In gearbox construction and general mechanical engineering, a four-point contact bearing often replaces double-row angular contact ball bearings. It is frequently used purely as a guide bearing in combination with a separate radial bearing that absorbs the transverse forces. Furthermore, the component is suitable for applications with operating temperatures ranging from -30 °C to +150 °C.
The split inner ring allows a large number of balls to be accommodated within the bearing, which increases the axial load capacity. Furthermore, this design enables separate assembly: the outer ring, together with the ball race, and the two inner ring halves can be fitted onto the shaft and housing in succession. The solid brass cage guides the rolling elements with minimal vibration and is also suitable for higher thermal loads. In this version, which has no groove in the outer ring, the bearing is secured by its precise fit within the bearing housing.
A four-point bearing from the QJ213 series can accommodate high axial forces in both directions thanks to the special geometry of its raceways. The FAG version features a split inner ring and a solid brass cage. With dimensions of 65 mm bore, 120 mm outer diameter and 23 mm width, it requires less axial installation space than two separate angular contact ball bearings.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 120 mm and a width of 23 mm. These dimensions correspond to the QJ213 model. Before fitting, check the diameter of your shaft and the housing bore to ensure a dimensionally accurate fit.
The split inner ring allows a larger number of balls to be fitted, thereby increasing the load-carrying capacity compared with standard bearings. Furthermore, this design simplifies installation and removal. The outer ring, the set of rolling elements and the two halves of the inner ring can be mounted independently of one another onto the shaft and housing.
As this bearing is designed to be open as standard and does not have any sealing washers, lubrication is provided by the surrounding structure. You can supply the component with grease via an external lubrication system or via an oil circulation system. An external seal on the bearing housing protects the rolling bearing from dirt and moisture.
The component is manufactured with a standard radial bearing clearance. This standard clearance is suitable for normal operating temperatures and typical fits on the shaft and housing. It helps to ensure that the bearing retains the intended range of movement during operation once the rings have been pressed onto it.
The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 °C to +150 °C. This thermal resistance is largely determined by the dimensional stability of the steel rings and the brass cage. Ensure you select a lubricant that covers this temperature range during continuous operation.
