The SKF 6334 M single-row deep groove ball bearing (170x360x72 mm) features a solid brass cage for heavy-duty industrial radial applications.
The SKF 6334 M single-row deep groove ball bearing, as an open rolling bearing, primarily accommodates radial loads as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6) with dimensions of 170 mm bore, 360 mm outer diameter and 72 mm width, this design is engineered for heavily loaded large machinery. The bearing has standard radial clearance and complies with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). Its standardised geometry facilitates integration into standardised bearing seats in continuous industrial operation.
This large bearing is primarily used in heavy-duty mechanical engineering and in heavily loaded industrial drives. With dimensions of 170 × 360 × 72 mm, the rolling bearing can withstand considerable mechanical forces. As an open design without sliding seal discs, lubrication is supplied directly via the surrounding system using grease or oil. The bearing covers a temperature range from –20 to +150 degrees Celsius and enables continuous rotational speeds with stable heat dissipation.
Compared to sheet steel cages, the built-in brass cage (designation M) is characterised by high strength and favourable free-running properties. It reliably guides the rolling elements during vibrations, high accelerations or alternating shock loads. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance, the bearing is suitable for operating conditions involving uniform heating between the shaft and housing. The outer ring is designed without a groove or flange, which is why axial fixation must be achieved via the housing.
With a bore of 170 mm, an outer diameter of 360 mm and a width of 72 mm, this bearing is classified as a large-diameter rolling bearing. These standardised dimensions determine the bearing seat on the shaft and in the housing for heavy-duty mechanical engineering applications.
The code letter M indicates a solid brass cage for guiding the rolling elements. Compared with sheet steel cages, brass cages offer greater mechanical stability in the event of severe shocks, vibrations or rapid changes in speed during continuous operation.
Without integrated sealing washers, the open design allows lubricating oil or grease to circulate directly from the unit. This enables the bearing to be specifically integrated into a circulating lubrication system, whilst the surrounding machine housing provides protection against dirt.
This roller bearing is approved for a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. Within this temperature range, the combination of hardened 100Cr6 bearing steel and a brass cage, when paired with a suitable lubricant, ensures dimensional stability during operation.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard internal clearance between the rings and the rolling elements prior to installation. This clearance is suitable for standard fit designs and ensures balanced temperature conditions between the inner and outer rings during operation.
Manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN (equivalent to ABEC 1), the roller bearing meets standardised dimensional and concentricity tolerances. This precision class meets the requirements of common industrial applications and allows for the direct interchangeability of components in standardised bearing seats.
