FAG 61814 deep-groove ball bearing: A single-row bearing with a 70 mm bore and an outer diameter of 90 mm, designed for compact, radial mounting in confined spaces.
The 61814 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with a particularly narrow cross-section and a comparatively large shaft diameter of 70 mm. With a width of just 10 mm, this design primarily absorbs radial forces and also supports axial loads in both directions. Thanks to the flangeless cylindrical outer ring, the bearing can be fitted directly into smooth housing bores.
Design engineers opt for this design when, despite a large shaft diameter, only limited radial installation space is available within the housing. Typical applications include mechanical assemblies, fixtures and gearboxes with centralised oil lubrication. As the bearing is of an open design, the lubricant reaches the rolling elements and raceways unhindered. This is advantageous for applications where the surrounding environment is already protected against contamination by the enclosing housing.
As this rolling bearing is not fitted with sealing washers as standard, the bearing housing requires careful sealing in the housing cover or on the shaft. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements with low friction. With its standard radial clearance and standard tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), this model is suitable for typical industrial fit conditions. Before commissioning, ensure you select a lubricant suitable for the operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 70 mm, an external diameter of 90 mm and a width of 10 mm. Thanks to this small cross-sectional height, the roller bearing can be integrated into housings in a very space-saving manner.
The open design, which does not feature sealing washers, allows lubricating oil or grease to pass freely directly from the surrounding housing system. This enables the bearing to be flexibly adapted to the client’s lubrication system.
Normal bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. This design is intended for applications with standard fits and moderate temperature differences between the shaft and the housing.
The roller bearing is designed for use within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. The choice of lubricant should be tailored to these thermal conditions.
Both the solid bearing rings and the rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This material offers high hardness and dimensional stability for continuous industrial use.
The bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN (comparable to ABEC 1). It therefore meets the standard dimensional and running accuracy requirements for standardised industrial applications.
