The FAG NUP211 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is used as a fixed bearing for shafts with a 55 mm bore under high radial loads.
The NUP211 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing with standard tolerance P0/ABEC 1 and main dimensions of 55 x 100 x 21 mm. The manufacturer, FAG, produces this design with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This enables the unit to absorb radial loads whilst simultaneously fixing the shaft in both axial directions. The open bearing, without sealing discs, allows for flexible lubrication within the housing.
Design engineers primarily use this design as a fixed bearing location when, in addition to high radial loads, axial forces act on both sides of the shaft. Due to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, the component can withstand high transverse forces. Typical applications are found in industrial bearing arrangements subject to combined radial and axial loads. The open outer ring without a ring groove requires external sealing of the housing assembly, but facilitates the unimpeded exchange of lubricant within the system.
The designation TVP2 denotes a solid polyamide cage which guides the roller elements quietly and, thanks to its low weight, promotes favourable running characteristics. The permissible temperature range extends from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The increased bearing clearance class C3 compensates for operational heating or tighter fits between the shaft and housing, ensuring that the rolling elements do not jam even under thermal load. The component does not have integrated electrical insulation.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a separate flange disc. This design enables the bearing to function as a fixed bearing. The component absorbs high radial forces and also guides the mounted shaft in both axial directions without play, within the specified guidance limits.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 55 mm, an external diameter of 100 mm and a width of 21 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow for direct installation in standard-compliant housing bores and on corresponding shaft seats in mechanical engineering.
The suffix C3 indicates a radially increased bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This additional clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways helps to prevent the bearing from becoming stressed when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation, or when tight fit clearances are selected.
The TVP2 cage is made of polyamide and is designed to ensure the smooth guidance of the cylindrical rollers. The material is characterised by low inertia and elastic running properties. This cage is specified for use within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
As the cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured without its own sealing washers, protection against dust, dirt particles and moisture must be provided by the surrounding housing structure. Shaft seals, labyrinth seals or housing covers provide the necessary sealing whilst simultaneously retaining the lubricant on the raceways.
