The SKF NUP204 ECP cylindrical roller bearing supports shafts with a 20 mm bore as a fixed bearing in both axial directions.
The NUP204 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing in the SKF Explorer performance class with an optimised internal design. With key dimensions of 20 mm inside diameter, 47 mm outside diameter and 14 mm width, this design can accommodate high radial loads. The outer ring has no lubrication groove. Thanks to the NUP design with fixed flanges and a loose flange disc, this component provides axial guidance for the shaft on both sides.
Design engineers primarily use this design in bearing arrangements where high radial loads occur and precise axial fixation is required at the same time. Typical applications include bearing arrangements where, in addition to high radial forces, axial guidance forces in both directions must also be supported. As the open bearing has no integrated sealing washers, it is suitable for enclosed housings with an external lubricant supply. The component covers an operating temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The integrated polyamide cage reduces the moving mass of the roller guide and promotes low-friction operation under normal operating conditions. In conjunction with the standard radial bearing clearance and dimensional accuracy to P0 or ABEC 1, the bearing fits into standardised housing fits. The improved running accuracy of class P6 (ABEC 3) also contributes to precise shaft concentricity, which reduces vibrations and operating noise in the drivetrain.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, as well as one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This allows the roller bearing to function as a fixed bearing. It absorbs high radial forces and guides the shaft axially in both directions within the housing.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing has an inner diameter of 20 mm, an outer diameter of 47 mm and a width of 14 mm. The outer ring is smooth and has no additional lubrication groove or lubrication hole.
The polyamide cage maintains a uniform spacing between the cylindrical roller elements. The material is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties. It is designed for the specified temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius when used in conjunction with standard lubricants.
In this bearing, dimensional and running accuracy are graded: the dimensional accuracy corresponds to standard class P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1) for standard mounting fits. The radial and axial runout accuracy is manufactured to the tighter P6 class (ABEC 3), which ensures particularly smooth shaft rotation.
As this open bearing does not have any integrated sealing washers, the surrounding housing structure must protect the interior from contamination and lubricant loss. Depending on the lubrication system, operation is achieved via an external oil bath, a recirculating lubrication system or a suitable grease fill within the housing.
