The FAG cylindrical roller bearing NJ306 -E-XL-M1A-C3 can withstand high radial loads with a 30 mm bore, 72 mm outer diameter and 19 mm width.
The FAG NJ306 -E-XL-M1A-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is designed as a single-row radial roller bearing. Thanks to the modified line contact of the cylindrical rollers, the design can withstand high radial forces. As an open version without an integrated seal, the bearing operates in externally lubricated housings and is suitable for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
This design is specifically intended for use as a support bearing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has a single flange and remains removable from one side. As a result, the component accommodates not only predominant radial forces but also axial guidance forces from one direction. In the opposite direction, the bearing arrangement allows for a defined axial displacement, which compensates for changes in shaft length due to thermal expansion. Typical applications include shaft mountings where axial guidance in one direction is combined with thermal length compensation.
The solid brass cage, which is guided on the outside, guides the rollers stably against the outer ring at high speeds and under vibration loads. The radially increased bearing clearance of the C3 group provides the necessary compensation space when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings or when fixed bearing seats reduce the radial operating clearance. Together with tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), this design is suitable for demanding installation conditions in mechanical engineering.
The NJ design features two fixed guide flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. As a result, the unit acts as a thrust bearing: it transmits high radial forces and also supports axial forces from one direction. In the opposite direction, the design allows for axial displacement of the shaft.
The component has an internal diameter of 30 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. Thanks to the inner ring, which can be pulled off from one side, both bearing rings can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing during assembly.
The designation M1A refers to a solid brass cage that is guided on the outer ring. Outboard-guided brass cages offer high mechanical stability against acceleration forces and vibrations, and have favourable emergency running properties in the event of a lack of lubricant.
The designation C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from becoming stressed when operational heating or tight bearing seats lead to a reduction in the radial operating clearance.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. As this is an open design, the actual operating limits depend largely on the lubricant used and the sealing of the surrounding housing structure.
No, it is an open bearing without integrated seals or cover plates. It also has no lubrication groove in the outer ring and therefore requires a supply of lubricant via the housing or an external lubrication system.
