The FAG NU309 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 45x100x25 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity as a non-locating bearing with a flexible polyamide cage.
This FAG NU309 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore of 45 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm, this open bearing can accommodate high transverse forces. As a NU-type idler bearing, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the bearing assembly to axially compensate for operational length changes in the shaft within the housing.
This design is primarily used in bearing arrangements where purely radial forces act and axial length changes of the shaft must be compensated for. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, the bearing can be fitted separately onto the shaft and into the housing. This significantly simplifies installation, maintenance and overhaul work in confined spaces.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a solid polyamide window cage, which ensures quiet running and low friction. The increased radial clearance (C3) compensates for thermal differences between the shaft and housing, as well as fit allowances during installation. The specified operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, the choice of lubricant and external housing sealing must be coordinated.
As a single-row radial roller bearing of the NU design with a flangeless inner ring, this variant accommodates radial forces only and compensates for axial length changes. Features include a polyamide cage (TVP2), an increased bearing clearance (C3) and manufacture to tolerance class P0.
With a bore of 45 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a total width of 25 mm, this design complies with standardised key dimensions. The outer ring is manufactured without a lubrication groove or lubrication bore. The inner ring, which can be removed from both sides, allows both bearing rings to be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing.
In the NU design, the outer ring guides the cylindrical rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges on either side. This allows the inner ring to be moved axially relative to the roller set in both directions. It also simplifies the separate mounting of the inner and outer rings onto the shaft and housing.
The abbreviation TVP2 refers to a solid window cage made of polyamide. This material is characterised by its low weight, good damping properties and smooth running. The cage guides the rollers and limits the permissible operating temperature range of the bearing to between -30 and +120 degrees.
The C3 bearing clearance group has greater radial clearance than the standard CN design. This additional clearance prevents the rolling elements from becoming jammed when tight fits cause the rings to expand or when temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings during operation.
As an open design, the component has no sealing washers and no lubrication bore in the outer ring. The lubricant – grease or oil – is applied directly into the bearing chamber. To protect against dirt and moisture, a suitable external seal must be provided in the surrounding housing structure.
