The AH2309 pull-off sleeve with a 1:12 taper is used for mounting and subsequently removing tapered roller bearings from metric shafts with a diameter of 40 mm.
The AH2309 pull-off sleeve is used to mount roller bearings with a tapered bore onto cylindrical shaft shoulders. The component has a bore of 40 mm, an external diameter of 50 mm and a width of 44 mm. Thanks to its standard slotted design, the sleeve can be driven between the shaft and the inner ring of the bearing to adjust the required bearing clearance to suit the application.
The sleeve provides axial support for roller bearings with a tapered inner seat against a fixed shaft shoulder. During assembly, the bearing is positioned against the shoulder whilst the sleeve is slid under the inner ring. Typical applications include bearing arrangements with self-aligning roller or self-aligning ball bearings. The sleeve has an external thread for subsequent removal. When a suitable withdrawal nut is screwed onto this and tightened, the sleeve is pushed out of its seat in a controlled manner, thereby protecting the shaft and bearing seat.
The 1:12 taper ratio causes the bearing inner ring to expand continuously during axial pressing, thereby achieving a precise reduction in the radial bearing clearance. The bearing must sit flush against the shaft shoulder before the sleeve is pressed in evenly. As the slotted nut and locking plate are not included in the scope of delivery, these fasteners – suitable for the sleeve’s thread – must be planned for and provided separately.
The sleeve has a bore diameter of 40 mm for the shaft, an external diameter of 50 mm and a width of 44 mm. The external surface has a taper ratio of 1:12, suitable for metric roller bearing bores.
The taper ratio of 1:12 corresponds to the standard taper of many self-aligning roller and self-aligning ball bearings. It converts the axial press-fit clearance into a radial expansion of the inner ring. This allows the bearing clearance to be reduced precisely and ensures the required interference fit on the shaft.
No, these components are not included in the scope of supply. A suitable groove nut and a retaining plate are required for axial securing on the shaft and for subsequent removal; these must be provided separately in accordance with the mounting dimensions.
To remove the bearing, first loosen the shaft-side securing device. Then screw a slotted nut onto the thread of the extraction sleeve. As the nut is tightened, it bears against the inner ring of the bearing and pulls the slotted sleeve out of the bearing seat in a controlled manner.
This version is designed for metric cylindrical shafts with a diameter of 40 mm. The shaft must have a solid shoulder against which the inner ring of the roller bearing is supported axially during press-fitting and in operation.
