The FAG 33212 tapered roller bearing (60x110x38 mm) can withstand high radial and unilateral axial loads and features a robust sheet steel cage.
The FAG 33212 single-row tapered roller bearing is designed as a complete rolling bearing for demanding industrial applications. With main dimensions of a 60 mm bore, 110 mm outside diameter and 38 mm width, this bearing transmits high radial loads combined with axial forces from one direction. The tapered arrangement of the rolling elements ensures uniform line contact along the raceways. The component is manufactured in the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1).
This bearing is suitable for applications in mechanical and plant engineering where combined loads occur. As single-row tapered roller bearings, by their design, can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, they are usually mounted in pairs facing each other in practice. The design allows the axial clearance to be adjusted during assembly. At operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees, the bearing operates reliably in environments subject to continuous loads.
The integrated sheet steel cage keeps the tapered rollers spaced apart and withstands mechanical vibrations and dynamic accelerations. As it is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0/PN or ABEC 1, the component can be integrated with a precise fit into housing and shaft fits. As the inner ring with roller cage and the outer ring can be fitted separately, installation is made easier. During design, care must be taken to ensure appropriate lubrication and sealing of the surrounding assembly.
The dimensions are 60 mm bore diameter, 110 mm outer diameter and 38 mm overall width. These standardised dimensions define how the component is fitted onto shafts and into housings. Thanks to these standard dimensions, the component can be replaced with a perfect fit during maintenance or repair work.
The conical rolling elements simultaneously transmit high radial forces and unidirectional axial forces. The load is distributed by the contact angle between the rollers and the raceways. To accommodate axial forces in both directions, the bearing is usually fitted in conjunction with a mating bearing mounted in a mirror-image configuration.
This specification defines the standard tolerance for dimensional and running accuracy in accordance with the standard. P0 and PN correspond to the standard accuracy class, which is designated as ABEC 1 in the Anglo-American region. For common industrial applications, this precision grade offers a balanced compromise between manufacturing tolerance and fit requirements.
The permissible temperature range for this bearing is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. The dimensional stability of the rings and the suitability of the sheet steel cage are designed for this range. When selecting a lubricant, greases or oils that cover this temperature range should be chosen.
Yes, the outer ring can be completely separated from the inner ring, including the set of rollers and the cage. This feature facilitates separate installation in housings and on shafts. During final assembly and alignment, the required bearing clearance or a defined preload is set by adjusting the axial position.
The sheet steel cage is characterised by its low weight and high mechanical strength. It guides the tapered rollers whilst maintaining its dimensional stability and remains resilient even under dynamic speed changes and vibrations. Furthermore, the sheet steel retains its mechanical properties throughout the entire permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
