The 33210 tapered roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager can withstand high combined radial and axial loads and has standardised dimensions of 50 × 90 × 32 mm.
Single-row tapered roller bearings, such as the 33210, can withstand high radial forces as well as axial forces from one direction. Manufactured by FAG Wälzlager, this bearing consists of an inner ring with a guided set of rollers and a separately mountable outer ring. With a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width of 32 mm, this component is suitable for demanding shaft mountings. Its design meets standard industry requirements and supports uniform power transmission in mechanical drives.
Typical applications for the 33210 tapered roller bearing include shaft mountings and industrial applications where high radial forces occur simultaneously with unilateral axial forces. As a single bearing can only support axial loads in one direction, it is usually fitted in pairs in an X or O configuration with a second mating bearing. This arrangement provides a rigid and robust shaft mounting.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers and performs reliably within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. The ability to fit the inner and outer rings separately allows for flexible installation. You adjust the operating clearance during assembly by aligning the bearing against the second bearing. As this is an open design, the bearing housing requires a suitable lubricant before commissioning. The tolerance class P0/PN corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard.
With an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 90 mm and a width of 32 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. These dimensions allow for a precise fit when replacing bearings in existing housings or machine mountings.
Tapered roller bearings can accommodate high radial forces and, at the same time, axial forces from one direction. The angled roller tracks are designed to effectively dissipate combined loads. To accommodate alternating or bidirectional axial forces, a second bearing is positioned opposite the first in the assembly.
Unlike radial ball bearings, the bearing clearance in this tapered roller bearing is not set at the factory. During installation, fitters adjust the operating clearance by axially positioning the inner or outer ring against the mating bearing to suit the intended application.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, the components retain their dimensional stability. For continuous operation, a grease or lubricating oil must be selected that reliably covers this temperature range.
Single-row tapered roller bearings are not designed to be self-retaining. The inner ring, together with the sheet steel cage and the set of rollers, forms a single, rigid unit, whilst the outer ring can be removed separately. This facilitates step-by-step assembly and simplifies subsequent inspection work at the bearing location.
This designation describes the standard tolerance class for industrial roller bearings. It defines the permissible dimensional and concentricity tolerances for standard accuracy requirements. The bearing can therefore be used directly in most conventional machine designs.
