The FAG 33206 tapered roller bearing, measuring 30 × 62 × 25 mm, provides a robust guide for combined radial and axial forces.
The FAG 33206 tapered roller bearing is designed as a single-row rolling bearing for mechanical guides in mechanical engineering. The component has a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 25 mm. Thanks to the conically arranged rollers, the bearing can accommodate high radial loads whilst simultaneously withstanding axial forces from one direction. A dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along the raceways. The permissible temperature range extends from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
Single-row tapered roller bearings are primarily used where standard radial bearings reach their limits due to additional axial forces. They are suitable for bearing arrangements subject to combined loads and high force requirements. As this design can only accommodate axial loads in one direction, in practice they are usually fitted in pairs in an X or O configuration. This opposing arrangement stabilises the shaft and enables play-free guidance under varying load directions.
This tapered roller bearing is designed to be disassembled. The inner ring with roller set can be fitted separately from the outer ring, which makes it easier to fit into housings and onto shafts. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), making it suitable for standard applications. As this open bearing has no integrated seals, the bearing housing requires external sealing as well as appropriate lubrication with grease or oil.
This tapered roller bearing has an inner diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a total width of 25 mm. Thanks to these standardised dimensions, the bearing fits into standardised housing bores and onto corresponding cylindrical shaft seats.
This design is engineered to accommodate the simultaneous action of radial forces and single-sided axial forces. The tapered rollers transmit the resulting forces at an angle to the bearing axis. If alternating axial forces occur, a second bearing, mounted in a mirror-image configuration, is required.
Tapered roller bearings of this design are not self-retaining. The inner ring, together with the rollers and the sheet steel cage, forms a single unit, whilst the outer ring can be fitted separately. This separability simplifies mechanical installation and subsequent maintenance procedures.
The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The integrated sheet steel cage retains its dimensional stability within this temperature range. For operation, the selected lubricant must be suitable for the relevant ambient temperatures.
Tolerance class P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1) defines the standardised dimensional and running tolerances for the standard design. Bearings of this tolerance class meet the standard requirements in general mechanical engineering where no higher precision class is required.
As the standard version is open-ended and has no integrated sealing elements, the bearing housing must be protected from the outside. Shaft seals or labyrinth seals prevent contaminants from entering and keep the lubricant within the bearing housing.
