The FAG 33110 single-row tapered roller bearing, with dimensions of 50 × 85 × 26 mm, accommodates radial forces as well as single-sided axial forces during operation.
The 33110 tapered roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing in the standard design from FAG Rolling Bearings, designed for demanding mechanical loads. Thanks to its tapered rollers and raceways, this component accommodates combined loads consisting of radial and axial forces. With a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 85 mm and a width of 26 mm, the bearing is suitable for specific installation in shaft mountings in general mechanical engineering.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians primarily use the 33110 tapered roller bearing where standard radial bearings reach their limits. As a single tapered roller bearing, by its very design, can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, it is often fitted in pairs in a mirror-image arrangement during operation. Typical applications include bearing locations subject to high radial loads whilst simultaneously providing axial guidance for the shaft. The design also contributes to stable guidance behaviour in a matched arrangement, even with varying load directions.
This roller bearing features a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage that precisely guides the tapered rollers and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees. It complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN (comparable to ABEC 1), which meets the standard requirements in industrial mechanical engineering. As the inner ring, including the roller cage, and the flangeless outer ring can be fitted separately, installation is simplified. During installation, care must be taken to ensure that the axial bearing clearance is set correctly.
With an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 85 mm and a total width of 26 mm, the component complies with standardised metric dimensions. It can be fitted precisely onto suitable cylindrical shaft seats and into standardised bearing housings in industrial applications.
Due to its design, the single-row bearing can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial loads acting in one direction. The line contact between the tapered rolling elements provides high rigidity. To accommodate axial loads acting in both directions, two bearings are usually mounted back-to-back.
Tolerance class P0 (also referred to as PN or ABEC 1) denotes the standard tolerance for industrial roller bearings. Tolerances for dimensional and running errors fall within the general standards, providing a tried-and-tested level of fitting accuracy for most applications in mechanical and plant engineering.
In this bearing, a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along the raceway. The cage design is resistant to common industrial lubricants and is suitable for operation within the specified temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The tapered roller bearing is not of a self-retaining design, which means that the inner ring, together with the roller cage, can be fitted separately from the outer ring. This ability to dismantle the bearing facilitates both installation and subsequent maintenance work, as the bearing seat and housing fit can be aligned independently of one another.
The 33110 tapered roller bearing is specified for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, the bearing rings, tapered rollers and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability. When designing the system, a lubricant must be selected that covers this temperature range.
