The 33016 tapered roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with main dimensions of 80 × 125 × 36 mm, is designed to withstand high radial and single-direction axial forces in mechanical engineering applications.
The single-row tapered roller bearing 33016 from FAG Wälzlager is designed as a complete rolling bearing for mechanical guides. With a bore of 80 mm, an outside diameter of 125 mm and a total width of 36 mm, this component provides a robust foundation for rotating shafts. Thanks to the tapered arrangement of the rolling elements, the design transmits both radial forces and single-sided axial loads simultaneously. The open design allows for flexible integration into the existing lubrication systems of the respective assembly.
This 33016 tapered roller bearing is used in industrial bearing arrangements where combined loads occur and rigid guidance is required. As a single-row tapered roller bearing, by its very design, can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, it is usually mounted in pairs with a mating bearing in an O or X arrangement. In this way, shafts can be supported against alternating thrust forces.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers and withstands thermal loads in the temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees. When designing the assembly, it should be noted that the inner ring, together with the roller ring, and the outer ring can be fitted separately. The operating clearance is adjusted axially during installation via the mating bearing. The tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1) ensures dimensional accuracy in accordance with standards for standard industrial fit designs.
With an internal diameter of 80 mm, an external diameter of 125 mm and a total width of 36 mm, the component defines the required installation space on the shaft and within the housing. These key dimensions enable precise coordination with the surrounding machine components.
A sheet steel cage separates the individual rolling elements from one another, prevents them from coming into contact and guides the rollers along the raceway. The sheet steel construction withstands impact loads well and is suitable for use within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
As the outer ring is supplied separately from the pre-assembled inner ring with roller cage, fit both components into the housing and shaft separately. The axial bearing clearance is then adjusted during final assembly by precisely aligning the bearing against a second bearing fitted in a mirror-image configuration.
This designation refers to the standard tolerance class for rolling bearings used in industrial applications. It defines the permissible deviations in terms of dimensional, geometric and running accuracy of the rings and ensures precise operation within standard mechanical engineering fit systems.
Due to the oblique contact angle of the truncated cone-shaped rollers, this bearing can simultaneously accommodate high radial loads and axial forces acting in one direction. To accommodate axial forces acting in both directions, you must arrange a second tapered roller bearing in a mirror-image, opposite orientation.
