The FAG 32210 tapered roller bearing (50 x 90 x 24.75 mm) accommodates combined radial and axial loads and features a robust sheet steel cage.
The 32210 tapered roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing in standard design, manufactured by FAG Rolling Bearings to tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). Its geometric design, featuring truncated cone-shaped rollers, creates a broad line of contact on the raceways of the inner and outer rings. As a result, the bearing can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial forces in one direction. This complete tapered roller bearing is suitable for demanding industrial drives.
The 32210 tapered roller bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements where radial loads and unilateral axial forces act simultaneously. Typical applications include gearbox bearings and industrial shaft assemblies. As single-row tapered roller bearings, by design, can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, in practice two bearings are usually mounted in a mirror-image configuration. This arrangement enables a play-free or specifically preloaded shaft guidance system with high system rigidity.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceways and withstands vibrations during continuous operation. FAG designs the bearing for a temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees, which covers a wide variety of industrial operating conditions. As the inner ring with roller set and the flangeless outer ring can be fitted separately, installation in housings and on shafts is made easier. During assembly, you can adjust the operating clearance by carefully adjusting the fit.
The bearing has a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a total width of 24.75 mm. These dimensions comply with the standardised metric dimensions for the standard version. Before fitting, check the shaft diameter and the housing bore to ensure a precise fit.
Single-row tapered roller bearings are designed for combined loads. Due to the angular orientation of the raceways, the bearing transmits radial forces whilst simultaneously withstanding axial forces acting from one side. To provide axial guidance on both sides, users usually fit a second tapered roller bearing in a mirror-image arrangement on the same axle or shaft.
The design is not self-retaining. The inner ring, together with the set of rollers and the cage, forms a single unit, whilst the outer ring can be removed separately. This separability facilitates installation in enclosed housings and facilitates subsequent maintenance work on the machine.
The designations P0 and PN denote the standard tolerance in the metric roller bearing sector, which corresponds to the international ABEC 1 classification. They define the permissible limits for dimensional and geometric accuracy. For the vast majority of industrial gearbox and machinery applications, this standard tolerance offers cost-effective and proven precision.
The permissible temperature range for this bearing is from -30 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, the bearing rings, tapered rollers and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability. When commissioning the bearing, ensure that the selected lubricant and any housing seals are also suitable for the respective operating temperature.
A sheet steel cage keeps the tapered rollers at a uniform distance apart and prevents direct contact between the rolling elements. The component combines mechanical stability with a low weight. Furthermore, the open cage design leaves sufficient space inside the bearing for the lubricant to circulate.
