The FAG 30219 tapered roller bearing, with dimensions of 95 × 170 × 34.5 mm, accommodates combined radial and axial loads in demanding industrial applications.
The single-row tapered roller bearing 30219 from FAG Wälzlager is designed to accommodate high radial forces as well as axial loads from a single direction. The tapered rollers run on inclined raceways and transfer the acting forces in a controlled manner into the housing structure. The component has a bore of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a width of 34.5 mm. Fitted with a sheet steel cage, the roller bearing guides the rolling elements evenly during operation.
This tapered roller bearing is used wherever structures need to absorb both radial and axial forces simultaneously. Typical applications include shaft mountings and assemblies subject to combined loads. As a single-row tapered roller bearing, by its very design, can only support axial forces in one direction, it is usually fitted in mechanical engineering in a mirror-image pair with a second bearing. This arrangement provides a backlash-free guide for rotating components and absorbs alternating axial thrusts on both sides.
The bearing is not self-retaining, which means that the inner ring with roller cage and the outer ring can be fitted separately. This feature simplifies installation in housings and onto shafts, as both rings can be press-fitted separately. Fitters adjust the required bearing clearance only during installation by axially aligning the bearing against the mating bearing. The complete tapered roller bearing corresponds to the standard design in tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a total width of 34.5 mm. These dimensions comply with standardised key dimensions and allow for a precise replacement in standardised bearing housings.
Owing to the tapered design of the raceways and rollers, the bearing is suitable for simultaneously accommodating high radial forces and axial forces from a single direction. For alternating axial loads, a second tapered roller bearing, mounted in a mirror-image configuration, must be fitted onto the shaft.
P0, or ABEC 1, refers to the standard tolerance class for rolling bearings. The dimensional, geometric and running accuracies fall within the standard tolerance limits, which is sufficient for the vast majority of industrial applications in general mechanical engineering.
The tapered roller bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Within this temperature range, the components retain their dimensional stability. When selecting a lubricant, users should ensure that it is approved for the relevant operating range.
The integrated sheet steel cage keeps the tapered rollers at a uniform distance apart and ensures smooth operation. It is characterised by its low weight combined with mechanical strength and can withstand the usual thermal stresses.
The factory-set bearing clearance is not specified for this type of bearing. As the inner ring and outer ring are separable, the actual bearing clearance is only determined during assembly by means of deliberate axial preload against a second tapered roller bearing on the shaft.
