The FAG 30206 tapered roller bearing accommodates radial and single-direction axial loads and has mounting dimensions of 30 x 62 x 17.25 mm.
The FAG 30206 tapered roller bearing is designed as a single-row bearing for combined loads. Owing to the tapered arrangement of the rolling elements, this design transmits radial forces together with axial forces from a single direction. The dimensions are 30 mm bore, 62 mm outside diameter and 17.25 mm width. The complete bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
This tapered roller bearing is primarily used in general mechanical engineering for applications involving combined radial and axial loads. The bearing fulfils its function wherever shafts are simultaneously subjected to radial forces and one-sided axial forces. Typically, the 30206 tapered roller bearing is paired with a second bearing in a mirror-image configuration to accommodate axial counterforces and to set the required operating clearance.
The fitted sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers evenly and withstands thermal loads ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. With the standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1, the bearing can be easily integrated into standardised housing and shaft fits. As the outer ring and inner ring can be fitted separately, the design facilitates step-by-step installation as well as lubricant supply within your assembly.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a total width of 17.25 mm. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, the 30206 tapered roller bearing fits precisely into existing shaft and housing fits. During repairs, it replaces components of the same dimensions without the need for any adjustment.
Single-row tapered roller bearings simultaneously transmit high radial forces and axial forces from a single direction. The tapered raceways dissipate the resulting loads at an angle to the axis of rotation. To accommodate axial forces in both directions, two tapered roller bearings are usually mounted in a mirror-image configuration and aligned against each other.
The permissible temperature range for this tapered roller bearing is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. Within these limits, the rolling elements and bearing rings retain their dimensional stability. The integrated sheet steel cage also operates without fault within this temperature range, provided that the selected lubrication is suited to the actual operating temperature.
The designation P0 or ABEC 1 refers to the standard tolerance class for rolling bearings. It defines the permissible deviations in dimensional, geometric and running accuracy. For most industrial applications, this precision grade offers a practical balance between fitting accuracy, cost-effectiveness and straightforward installation.
Tapered roller bearings are not self-retaining in design, which means that the outer ring and inner ring can be fitted separately from the roller cage. This separation facilitates step-by-step installation into housings or onto shafts. During assembly, the required bearing clearance or axial preload is set by pressing the bearing against a counter-bearing.
This roller bearing incorporates a conventional sheet-steel cage. This type of cage is characterised by its low mass, high strength and good temperature resistance. It guides the tapered rollers securely along the inner ring raceway and ensures an even load distribution across the entire set of rolling elements.
