The SKF 32016 X tapered roller bearing can withstand high combined loads and, with dimensions of 80x125x29 mm, provides robust guidance for industrial applications.
The 32016 X tapered roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing from SKF in a standard design. With a bore of 80 mm, an outer diameter of 125 mm and a width of 29 mm, this complete bearing accommodates combined radial and axial loads in one direction. The interaction between the inner ring, outer ring and guided roller set ensures high rigidity during operation. Design engineers and maintenance technicians use this design for demanding shaft mountings in mechanical engineering.
This single-row tapered roller bearing is suitable for industrial bearing arrangements where high radial forces and single-sided axial forces occur simultaneously. Typical applications include rigid shaft mountings and demanding industrial plant. As the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately, the bearing facilitates installation in enclosed housings. For alternating axial load directions, the unit is usually combined with a second tapered roller bearing in a mirror-image configuration and positioned opposite each other.
The integrated sheet steel cage reliably guides the conical rolling elements and is designed to withstand thermal stresses. The bearing covers an operating temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees and retains its dimensional stability even when ambient temperatures fluctuate. Manufacture to tolerance class P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1) provides standard tolerances for universal installation in mechanical and plant engineering. In terms of design, the required bearing clearance is only determined during assembly through precise alignment.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 80 mm, an outside diameter of 125 mm and a total width of 29 mm. These dimensions comply with the metric standard series for single-row tapered roller bearings. These key dimensions can be used to check whether the component fits the existing shaft and housing.
Single-row tapered roller bearings simultaneously accommodate high radial forces and axial forces from a single direction. Due to the tapered profile of the raceways, an internal axial force is generated when the bearing is subjected to a radial load. To accommodate forces in both axial directions, two of these bearings are mounted on the shaft in a mirror-image configuration.
The roller bearing is designed for use within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, the rings, the sheet steel cage and the rolling elements retain their dimensional stability. When selecting the grease or oil, the operating temperature should be matched to this range.
The designation P0 refers to the standard tolerance, whilst ABEC 1 represents the corresponding classification. It defines the permissible dimensional and runout tolerances of the bearing rings. This standard class is suitable for the vast majority of industrial drives and machinery applications with normal requirements for runout accuracy.
The bearing clearance in single-row tapered roller bearings is not specified by the manufacturer. It is created during installation, when the inner and outer rings are axially aligned against a second bearing. The operating clearance is adjusted using shaft nuts or shims to suit the specific application and to account for thermal expansion.
The outer ring can be completely separated from the inner ring and its set of rollers. This open design makes assembly considerably easier, as both rings can be fitted separately onto the shaft or into the housing. Furthermore, the fact that the bearing can be dismantled simplifies visual inspection and replacement during maintenance work.
