The 33012 tapered roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with dimensions of 60x95x27 mm, is capable of withstanding high combined radial and axial loads in industrial applications.
The 33012 tapered roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing in standard design, manufactured to standard tolerance P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1). Due to the line contact of the tapered rolling elements, this bearing is particularly suitable for applications in which radial forces and unidirectional axial forces act simultaneously. FAG Wälzlager equips the component with a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage that guides the rollers. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees.
Due to the geometry of the tapered raceways, this design can withstand high transverse forces and unidirectional axial forces. Typical applications include bearings in general mechanical engineering where combined loads occur. As a single bearing can only accommodate axial forces from one direction, it is usually fitted in pairs in an X or O arrangement opposite a second bearing. This arrangement supports shafts without play and contributes to the rigidity of the mounting of rotating components.
As a complete tapered roller bearing, the design consists of an inner ring with a set of rollers and a separate outer ring. This split design facilitates the mounting of the rings onto the shaft and housing. After insertion, fitters adjust the operating clearance or preload via the mating bearing. The sheet steel cage withstands mechanical stresses within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. As this is an open design, the chosen lubricant and external housing seals determine the level of protection against contamination.
The bearing has an internal diameter (bore) of 60 mm, an external diameter of 95 mm and a total width of 27 mm. These metric key dimensions define the installation space required for the shaft and housing.
Thanks to the angled tapered rollers, this design can accommodate both high radial forces and axial forces from a single direction. To accommodate axial forces acting in both directions, you must fit a second tapered roller bearing in a mirror-image configuration to guide the shaft axially in both directions.
The P0/PN classification corresponds to ABEC Class 1. It defines the permissible dimensional, geometric and running accuracies for standard applications in industrial mechanical engineering, where standard requirements for concentricity and dimensional accuracy apply.
Tapered roller bearings are not self-retaining. The inner ring with its roller cage and the flangeless outer ring can be fitted separately. This greatly simplifies installation in mechanical engineering, as both rings can be fitted independently of one another with a tight fit onto the shaft and the housing bore.
The operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees. Within these limits, the bearing components and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability. Ensure that you choose a lubricant that also covers this temperature range.
As the bearing is designed without integrated sealing washers, the bearing housing requires a supply of grease or oil, as well as external housing seals. The relubrication intervals depend on the speed, ambient temperature and the operating conditions of your plant.
