The single-row SKF tapered roller bearing 30210 (50x90x21.75 mm) can accommodate both high radial loads and unilateral axial loads in industrial applications.
The 30210 tapered roller bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing in the SKF Explorer series. With a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 21.75 mm, this standard design is suitable for a wide range of shaft mountings. The tapered rolling elements dissipate radial forces and axial forces from one direction. As the bearing rings can be separated, installation in housings and on shafts can be carried out easily.
This bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements where combined loads occur. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the 30210 tapered roller bearing withstands high forces and provides rigid shaft guidance. As a single-row bearing can only accommodate axial loads in one direction, designers usually pair it symmetrically with a second tapered roller bearing to provide guidance on both sides.
SKF fits this roller bearing with a sheet steel cage, which keeps the tapered rollers evenly spaced and ensures smooth running. The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (comparable to ABEC 1), thereby providing the standard level of precision commonly required in mechanical engineering. It is designed for use within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees, which allows for a wide range of operating conditions.
The dimensions are 50 mm internal diameter (bore), 90 mm external diameter and 21.75 mm overall width. As a complete tapered roller bearing, this item comprises both the inner ring, including the roller cage, and the matching outer ring.
The bearing absorbs both radial and axial forces acting in the same direction. Thanks to the continuous contact along the tapered rollers, this design transmits high combined loads directly via the raceways.
Due to their design, single tapered roller bearings can only absorb axial forces in one direction. In order to fix a shaft axially in both directions and to set the required preload, they are usually fitted opposite each other in an X or O configuration.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees. Within this temperature range, the components and the integrated sheet steel cage retain their structural integrity during operation.
P0 or PN refers to the international standard tolerance for rolling bearings, known as ABEC 1 in the US. This tolerance class meets the requirements of traditional mechanical and plant engineering in terms of dimensional and concentricity accuracy.
A sheet steel cage maintains a precise spacing between the tapered rollers and prevents direct contact between the rolling elements. The component is characterised by its low weight and withstands the usual thermal stresses on the bearing without any problems.
