The FAG 32226 tapered roller bearing accommodates high radial and unilateral axial loads with main dimensions of 130 x 230 x 67.75 mm.
The 32226 tapered roller bearing is a separable roller bearing for industrial bearing arrangements subject to combined loads. As a complete tapered roller bearing in standard design, the unit consists of an inner ring with a roller-guided tapered roller set and a separately mountable outer ring. Mechanical engineering designs utilise the high rigidity of the conically arranged rows of rollers, which contribute to the precise guidance of rotating shafts and minimise tilting during operation.
The 32226 tapered roller bearing simultaneously accommodates high radial forces and single-sided axial loads. Typical applications include industrial gearboxes, drive shafts and mechanical bearings subjected to combined load profiles. As a single tapered roller bearing can, by design, only accommodate axial forces in one direction, the component is usually mounted as a paired bearing arrangement in an X or O configuration opposite a second bearing.
The integrated sheet steel cage precisely maintains the spacing between the rolling elements and reduces friction between adjacent tapered rollers within the bearing. The sheet metal construction withstands mechanical loads and vibrations during operation without introducing unnecessary additional weight into the bearing seat. In conjunction with the specified temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees, the bearing operates with thermal stability in industrial applications using grease or lubricating oil.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 130 mm at the bore, an external diameter of 230 mm and a total width of 67.75 mm. These dimensions define the installation space for the shaft and the housing bore during design and maintenance.
Due to the inclined raceway angle, the bearing simultaneously absorbs high radial forces and axial forces from a single direction. To provide axial guidance on both sides of a shaft, a second tapered roller bearing is positioned in a mirror-image configuration.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Within these limits, the bearing components and the integrated sheet steel cage retain their dimensionally stable geometry during operation.
The roller bearing complies with the standard tolerance P0/PN, which is equivalent to the international ABEC 1 standard. This precision class precisely meets the standard tolerance requirements in general mechanical engineering, gearboxes and drive systems.
Tapered roller bearings are not of a self-retaining design, which means that the outer ring can be separated from the pre-assembled inner ring with its roller cage. This modular design makes it easier to press the components into housings and onto shafts during assembly.
The classification as a complete tapered roller bearing means that the supply comprises both the inner ring, complete with a caged set of rollers, and the matching outer ring. Both components form a functional unit that is ready for immediate installation in the relevant bearing location.
