The SKF 32010 X tapered roller bearing, with main dimensions of 50 × 80 × 20 mm, can simultaneously withstand high radial loads and unilateral axial loads.
This single-row roller bearing in the Explorer design consists of an inner ring with a set of rollers and a separate outer ring. Thanks to the tapered arrangement of the rollers, the 32010 X tapered roller bearing transmits combined forces during operation. It is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. With its integrated sheet steel cage, the component operates within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees and is suitable for standard industrial applications.
Design engineers use this bearing wherever shafts are subject to high radial forces and must also be axially guided in one direction. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering for shaft bearings subjected to combined loads. As single-row tapered roller bearings, by their design, can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, they are usually fitted with a second tapered roller bearing in a mirror-image configuration to provide axial guidance in the opposite direction. This enables a zero-backlash or specifically preloaded bearing arrangement.
The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceways and prevents direct contact between the rollers. This keeps friction low, whilst allowing grease and lubricating oils to circulate unhindered. At the same time, the sheet steel cage withstands the mechanical loads within the specified temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Before installation, adjust the bearing clearance when mounting the bearings in pairs to suit the operating temperature and speed of your design.
With a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 80 mm and a total width of 20 mm, this design complies with standardised dimensions. This item is a complete tapered roller bearing, consisting of an inner ring assembly with a roller cage and the corresponding outer ring.
Due to its design, this single-row bearing can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial loads in one direction. For axial guidance of shafts on both sides, a second tapered roller bearing is fitted as standard in a mirror-image O or X arrangement, with the bearings positioned opposite each other.
The outer ring can be fitted separately from the inner ring, together with the roller set. This design facilitates separate installation in housings and on shafts, but requires precise adjustment of the axial bearing clearance during assembly.
The specified operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees. Within these limits, the bearing rings and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability, provided that the selected lubricant is approved for the relevant temperature range.
In this design, a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the conical rollers. The cage keeps the rollers spaced apart, facilitates the flow of lubricant and is suitable for industrial loads in the standard configuration.
With a tolerance class of P0/PN (comparable to ABEC 1), the bearing has a standard level of accuracy. This tolerance class defines the permissible deviations in bore, outer diameter and width dimensions for use in mechanical engineering.
