The SKF 33115 single-row tapered roller bearing (75x125x37 mm) can accommodate high radial loads as well as unilateral axial loads.
The 33115 tapered roller bearing is a separable, single-row rolling bearing in a standard design, manufactured by SKF in the Explorer performance class. With an inner diameter of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 125 mm and a total width of 37 mm, it accommodates radial forces as well as single-direction axial forces. The component is used to support rotating shafts under combined loads. The scope of supply comprises the outer ring and the inner ring with a guided roller cage, forming a complete tapered roller bearing.
Typically, the 33115 tapered roller bearing is fitted in pairs in an X or O arrangement opposite a second bearing to absorb opposing axial forces. Due to the line contact of the tapered rolling elements, the bearing arrangement can transmit higher forces than a ball bearing of the same dimensions. In this way, the shaft bearing arrangement accommodates axial loads acting from both sides and guides the rotating shaft within the housing.
The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the inner ring raceway and maintains a fixed distance between the rollers. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1), which ensures a precise fit on standardised shafts and in housing bores. The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. As the inner and outer rings can be slid on separately, this simplifies installation and the adjustment of the bearing clearance during assembly.
This version has a 75 mm bore for the shaft seat, an external diameter of 125 mm and a total width of 37 mm. These standardised key dimensions define the installation space within the housing and determine the load-bearing capacity for both axial and radial forces.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees. This operating range covers typical thermal conditions in machinery. Within these limits, the dimensional stability of the bearing rings and the function of the sheet steel cage remain stable. Select the lubricant appropriate for the actual operating temperature.
SKF manufactures this product to tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds internationally to the ABEC 1 standard. This standard tolerance defines limit values for runout, dimensional deviations and width dimensions. It meets the requirements of general mechanical engineering and enables standardised fit designs on shafts and in housings.
The bearing features a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage. The cage maintains a uniform distance between the tapered rollers, prevents the rolling elements from coming into contact with one another and ensures even load distribution. Sheet steel cages are suitable for a wide range of temperatures and standard lubricating oils or rolling-element bearing greases.
A key feature of this single-row tapered roller bearing is that it can be dismantled. The outer ring can be fitted separately from the inner ring with its roller set. This simplifies the fitting process in the workshop, as the rings can be pressed in individually and the bearing clearance can be precisely adjusted once the bearing is installed.
The ‘Explorer’ designation denotes an optimised performance class from SKF. In these rolling bearings, material purity, raceway geometry and surface finish are specifically matched to reduce friction and support operational reliability under heavy loads.
