The FAG 32006-X tapered roller bearing (30x55x17 mm) accommodates combined radial and axial loads in industrial bearing arrangements.
The FAG 32006-X tapered roller bearing is manufactured as an open, single-row roller bearing in a standard design. With a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 55 mm and a width of 17 mm, the bearing is suitable for high-load shaft mountings. The assembly consists of the inner ring, complete with a set of rollers and a cage, as well as the outer ring, which can be fitted separately. Due to the angular arrangement of the tapered rolling elements, the design transmits both radial forces and unilateral axial forces.
This design is primarily used for combined loads where radial forces occur alongside axial forces. Typical applications include gearbox shafts, axle drives and general machine bearings. As a single-row tapered roller bearing can only accommodate axial loads in one direction, it is usually fitted in pairs with a mirror-image mating bearing. This arrangement ensures precise guidance of the shaft when axial forces act on both sides.
FAG fits this rolling bearing with a sheet steel cage. The cage keeps the tapered rollers at a uniform distance apart and prevents direct contact between adjacent rolling elements as they rotate. Together with its design for a temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees, the unit is suitable for a wide range of operating conditions. The bearing meets the specifications of tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and thus fulfils the standard precision requirements for industrial and spare parts applications.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 30 mm, an external diameter of 55 mm and a total width of 17 mm. These dimensions determine the installation space required on the shaft and within the bearing housing. Before installation, the mounting dimensions at the respective bearing location must be checked.
Due to their design, single-row tapered roller bearings are not self-retaining. The inner ring, together with the cage and the tapered rollers, forms a single, integral unit, whilst the outer ring can be handled separately. This split structure makes fitting and removal from the shaft and housing considerably easier.
Due to the tapered arrangement of the rolling elements, the 32006-X tapered roller bearing accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces from one direction. To accommodate axial forces acting from both sides, a second tapered roller bearing must be fitted in a mirror-image configuration.
The permissible temperature range for the bearing is from -30 to +120 degrees. The thermal load capacity is determined by the materials used for the bearing rings, the rolling elements and the integrated sheet steel cage. The lubricant must be selected to suit the operating temperature.
P0 and PN denote the standard tolerance in accordance with ISO and DIN standards, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. This tolerance class defines the standard accuracy with regard to concentricity, dimensional accuracy and axial run-out for industrial roller bearings.
As this is an open design without sealing washers, a suitable lubricant must be applied before initial commissioning. Depending on the requirements and speed, the bearing is either filled with grease prior to installation or connected to a circulating lubrication system.
