The SKF 32009 X tapered roller bearing (45x75x20 mm) can withstand high combined radial and axial loads and features a robust sheet steel cage.
The SKF 32009 X tapered roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing in the Explorer performance class. With a bore of 45 mm, an outside diameter of 75 mm and a width of 20 mm, it can simultaneously withstand high radial and axial forces from a single direction. Thanks to the tapered raceways and rolling elements, the components roll with low friction. The design consists of an inner ring with a set of rollers and a separate outer ring, which facilitates separate installation.
This bearing is suitable for shaft support applications in general mechanical engineering where combined loads occur. As a single-row bearing can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, it is usually paired symmetrically with a second tapered roller bearing. This arrangement supports the shaft in both axial directions, either without play or with a defined preload.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers precisely and covers the permissible operating temperature range from -30 to +120 degrees. In the SKF Explorer version, the bearing features optimised contact surfaces that support the formation of a lubricating film. When selecting a bearing, ensure it complies with standard tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, and adjust the axial setting precisely to the operating conditions during installation.
With a bore of 45 mm, an outer diameter of 75 mm and a width of 20 mm, the dimensional specification refers to the complete bearing, comprising the inner ring with roller set and the outer ring. It is advisable to check the mounting dimensions on the shaft and housing before installation.
In SKF’s Explorer version, optimised internal geometries and tailored surfaces ensure improved running-in behaviour and reduced friction during operation. This aids the formation of a lubricating film between the rollers and the raceways and helps to extend service life.
Designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius, the bearing rings and sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability within this range. The lubricant used should be selected to suit the temperatures encountered during operation.
Manufactured to standard tolerance class P0 or PN (comparable to ABEC 1), the bearing meets the usual precision requirements in general mechanical engineering. This tolerance class allows it to be used with standardised shaft and housing fits.
As the inner ring with roller cage is separated from the outer ring, both components can be fitted independently of one another. This makes it easier to press them on and align them before the two rings are joined together and axially adjusted during final assembly.
This design accommodates both radial forces and single-sided axial forces. The angle of inclination of the raceways transfers radial loads proportionally as axial force. A counter-bearing must therefore be fitted to provide axial guidance on both sides.
