The SKF 24032 CC/C3W33 spherical roller bearing, measuring 160x240x80 mm, offers reliable performance under heavy radial and axial loads.
The 24032 CC/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore of 160 mm, an outside diameter of 240 mm and a width of 80 mm, this design accommodates high radial forces as well as axial forces acting in both directions. The design automatically compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation. As an open roller bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage, the unit is designed for installation in protected housings.
The bearing unit is designed for heavy radial loads and varying force directions in mechanical engineering. In the event of misalignment or shaft deflection, the barrel-shaped roller guide ensures even contact on the raceways, thereby preventing edge loading. Thanks to its open design, the bearing can be connected to centralised lubrication systems. This design is suitable for continuous operation in a protected housing environment.
The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This clearance prevents the rolling elements from becoming stressed if operational heating or tight fits reduce the internal clearance. The designation W33 indicates a lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This allows the lubricant to reach directly between the rows of rollers. In combination with the increased running accuracy P5, the bearing operates with low vibration even under demanding conditions.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 160 mm, an outer diameter of 240 mm and a total width of 80 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into suitable plinth housings or gearbox assemblies.
The designation W33 refers to a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring of the bearing. This design feeds grease or lubricating oil directly and evenly into the space between the two rows of rollers, which simplifies the relubrication process during operation.
The designation C3 indicates that the radial bearing clearance is designed to be greater than normal. This is necessary when there are temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, or when tight fits are specified on the shaft and housing, which reduce the bearing clearance during operation.
The spherical roller bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees. This makes it suitable for industrial environments with elevated operating temperatures, provided that a lubricant with the appropriate temperature resistance is used.
Whilst the dimensional accuracy complies with the standard PN class, the running accuracy is manufactured to the tighter P5 tolerance class. This results in improved concentricity of the rings, which reduces noise and vibration at higher speeds.
Open roller bearings do not have integrated sealing rings. This design is chosen when sealing is provided externally by housing seals and the lubricant is to be continuously replaced or replenished via centralised systems or oil circulation circuits.
