The SKF 23030 CCK/W33 spherical roller bearing compensates for misalignment and, with dimensions of 150 × 225 × 56 mm, withstands high radial loads in industrial applications.
The 23030 CCK/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding mechanical environments. This SKF model combines a tapered bore with an integrated lubrication groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring. As it is designed as an open bearing, lubricant reaches the moving parts directly. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements in an orderly manner between the inner and outer rings. This ensures the component maintains smooth running characteristics under varying mechanical loads.
This rolling bearing proves particularly effective under high radial loads and demanding operating conditions. Wherever shaft deflection occurs or misalignment between bearing positions needs to be compensated for, the spherical outer ring raceway demonstrates its advantages. The bearing compensates for angular misalignment without any significant increase in friction. As it is suitable for a temperature range of –30 to +200 degrees, the component can withstand thermal operating conditions in continuous operation.
The designation ‘K’ indicates the tapered inner bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. This design facilitates assembly, as the bearing can be mounted either directly onto a tapered shaft seat or using a mounting or withdrawal sleeve. The suffix W33 indicates the circumferential groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This allows fresh grease or lubricating oil to be fed directly into the bearing, which simplifies routine maintenance.
The design combines a self-aligning construction with a tapered bore with a 1:12 taper ratio. The bearing compensates for misalignment during operation. The SKF model features an outer ring with a lubrication groove and lubrication holes for lubricant supply, as well as a sheet steel cage.
The bore has an internal diameter of 150 mm on the narrow side. The external diameter is 225 mm and the width is 56 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions of the 23030 series for mechanical engineering.
The designation W33 indicates a lubrication groove and lubrication holes on the outer ring. This feature allows relubrication directly through the bearing housing, without the lubricant having to be laboriously forced past the seals or flanges from the side.
Fitting using the 1:12 bore is carried out either directly onto a tapered shaft journal or, using a suitable sleeve, onto a cylindrical shaft. The axial sliding action determines the resulting radial clearance; therefore, the reduction in bearing clearance should be monitored during installation.
The permissible operating range extends from -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. The standard 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel construction, as well as the heat-treated version, ensure reliable operation even under conditions of high heat during continuous operation.
The bearing is manufactured to PN-class dimensional accuracy, whilst its running accuracy complies with tolerance class P5. This design ensures smooth concentricity with precisely defined mating dimensions on the shaft and housing.
