The SKF 23022 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing, with dimensions of 110 × 170 × 45 mm, can accommodate high radial loads and automatically compensates for misalignment during operation.
The 23022 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing made from standard rolling-element steel (100Cr6). As an open bearing of the SKF Explorer design, this component combines dimensional accuracy in accordance with normal class PN with increased running accuracy in accordance with class P5. A robust sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements precisely between the inner and outer rings.
Designs featuring long shafts or high radial forces often result in slight misalignment or shaft deflection during operation. Thanks to the hollow spherical raceway of the outer ring, the roller set adjusts with angular movement in response to shaft deflection and misalignment between the housing and the shaft. The open design is intended for installation in lubricated housings at operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +200 degrees Celsius.
The suffix W33 denotes an annular lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This design facilitates the supply of lubricant directly to the rolling elements. Tolerance class P5 defines increased running accuracy, which reduces radial runout errors during rotational operation. The design must take into account the standard radial bearing clearance and the cylindrical seat on a shaft with a diameter of 110 mm.
The spherical roller bearing has an inner diameter of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a width of 45 mm. These standardised mounting dimensions allow it to be fitted onto cylindrical shaft sections in suitable machine housings.
The abbreviation CC refers to pressed sheet steel cages used to guide the barrel-shaped rollers. The designation W33 refers to a circumferential groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring, which allows a targeted supply of lubricant directly into the bearing.
This bearing is manufactured with a standard radial clearance. This clearance is suitable for standard fits and typical operating temperatures, ensuring that an appropriate operating clearance between the inner and outer rings is maintained during operation.
The roller bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. As this is an open design without integrated lip seals, the lubricant and external housing seals must be suitable for the respective operating temperature.
The 23022 CC/W33 spherical roller bearing combines the dimensional accuracy of the standard PN class with increased running accuracy to P5. The tighter P5 running tolerance reduces radial runout errors and ensures smooth shaft rotation.
