The SKF 22326 CCJA/W33VA405 self-aligning roller bearing, measuring 130 × 280 × 93 mm, is specifically designed for oscillating loads in vibrating screens.
The 22326 CCJA/W33VA405 self-aligning roller bearing is an open roller bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with the main dimensions of a 130 mm bore, 280 mm outer diameter and 93 mm width. SKF manufactures this version specifically for oscillating loads, such as those typically encountered in vibrating screens. Fitted with a sheet steel cage and a significantly increased radial clearance, the design covers a temperature range from –30 to +200 degrees. It accommodates high radial loads and compensates for misalignment.
This special design is particularly suitable for vibrating machinery and vibrating screens, where the roller rows are subjected to constant vibrations and high acceleration forces. Thanks to its design featuring a hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, the bearing compensates for operational shaft deflection and misalignment. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements accurately, even under dynamic alternating loads. As the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding housing system.
Under oscillating loads, frictional heat is frequently generated during operation, leading to thermal expansion of the rings. The significantly increased radial clearance helps to ensure that the bearing does not become stressed despite heating. At the same time, the fitting tolerances – bore tolerance P5 and outer diameter tolerance P6 – are tighter than for standard bearings. This reduces fit wear and unwanted relative movements on the shaft and housing seat. As an open bearing, this design requires effective external sealing.
With an internal diameter of 130 mm, an external diameter of 280 mm and a width of 93 mm, this roller bearing complies with precisely defined dimensional specifications. These dimensions must be precisely checked against the shaft seat and the housing bore prior to installation to ensure the bearing fits correctly within the unit.
A significantly increased radial clearance prevents the rollers from seizing up when temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings during operation as a result of vibrations and varying loads. The thermal expansion of the inner ring reduces the radial clearance, thereby ensuring smooth running during operation without excessive preload.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees. The standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) used, as well as the sheet steel cage, retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. Where operating temperatures are consistently higher, care must be taken to ensure that a lubricant suitable for these temperatures is used in the housing unit.
The bore tolerance to P5 and the outer diameter tolerance to P6 represent tighter manufacturing limits than standard tolerances. They reduce bearing seat inaccuracies and counteract the movement of the bearing rings under heavy shock and vibration loads on the shaft and within the bearing housing.
As the outer ring is manufactured without a lubrication groove or lubrication holes, grease or lubricating oil is supplied from the side via the bearing housing. As the bearing has no integrated seals, external sealing elements on the housing protect the interior of the bearing from the ingress of dirt and moisture.
The sheet steel cage is characterised by a moderate weight combined with high strength. Thanks to these properties, the guide is able to withstand the rapid radial accelerations and decelerations to which the moving rolling elements are continuously subjected in vibrating and screening machines.
