The SKF 21306 CC self-aligning roller bearing compensates for misalignment and, with dimensions of 30x72x19 mm, offers a compact design for high-load shaft mountings.
The 21306 CC self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for applications involving high radial forces and misalignment. SKF manufactures this open bearing from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) in the Explorer design. Two rows of symmetrical rollers self-align within the hollow spherical raceway of the outer ring. This enables the bearing to compensate for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation without causing additional friction.
The bearing is designed for heavy radial loads as well as axial forces acting in both directions when shaft deflection or misalignment occurs. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rollers evenly during rotational movement. With key dimensions of a 30 mm bore, 72 mm outer diameter and 19 mm width, the design is suitable for compact shaft mountings requiring angular movement.
This model combines PN dimensional accuracy with the enhanced P5 running accuracy. The tighter concentricity tolerance of the inner and outer rings contributes to low vibration at higher speeds. Design considerations: The outer ring has neither a groove nor a lubrication bore. Lubricant is supplied from the side via the housing design. As the bearing is of open design, a customer-supplied seal protects it from contamination.
With an internal bore of 30 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm, the component has standardised key dimensions for compact roller bearings.
The specification combines the standard dimensional accuracy PN for mounting dimensions with the tighter running accuracy P5. This reduces runout deviations and ensures smooth rotational behaviour on the shaft.
As the outer ring has neither a ring groove nor lubrication holes, grease or lubricating oil enters the bearing from the side. The supply and sealing must be provided by the design of the bearing cover or the housing.
Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 with a sheet steel cage, the bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. The lubricant must be suitable for the respective operating temperature.
At SKF, the suffix ‘CC’ denotes a design featuring a sheet-steel cage and symmetrical rollers. This design ensures low-friction guidance of the rolling elements under combined radial and axial loads.
