The SKF 22334 CCK/W33 spherical roller bearing, measuring 170 × 360 × 120 mm and featuring a tapered bore, provides reliable compensation for misalignment under heavy loads.
The SKF 22334 CCK/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. It accommodates very high radial loads as well as simultaneously acting axial forces in both directions. Thanks to the hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, the bearing automatically compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation. The Explorer version, made from classic standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6, combines standard dimensional accuracy PN with increased running accuracy to tolerance class P5.
This self-aligning roller bearing performs particularly well in heavy-duty applications with high radial loads, where shock loads, vibrations and operational shaft deflection occur. The internal geometry guides the barrel-shaped rollers with low friction, whilst the guided sheet steel cage keeps the rolling elements spaced apart. The component is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees and is suitable for open bearing arrangements under demanding thermal conditions.
The designation CCK refers to a tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. This design facilitates mounting on tapered shaft seats as well as securing the bearing on cylindrical shafts using a clamping or withdrawal sleeve. Furthermore, the standard radial clearance can be precisely adjusted by axial sliding. The suffix W33 denotes a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring, through which lubricant is fed directly between the two sets of rollers.
With an internal diameter of 170 mm at the bore, an external diameter of 360 mm and a width of 120 mm, the bearing complies with standardised main dimensions. It is designed as an open roller bearing made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, with two symmetrical rows of rollers.
The abbreviation CC describes the internal design featuring a pressed sheet steel cage and a flangeless inner ring. The letter K denotes the tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. The suffix W33 indicates a lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring, which aids uniform relubrication.
This design has the standard radial bearing clearance. When the inner ring is slid onto a tapered shaft or adapter sleeve, this operating clearance is measurably reduced. It is therefore advisable to check the remaining radial clearance during assembly using a feeler gauge.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees. As this is an unsealed bearing with a sheet steel cage, its thermal resistance depends primarily on the lubricant used and the housing seals.
In the Explorer version, the bearing combines standard dimensional accuracy (PN) for external and internal dimensions with enhanced running accuracy of tolerance class P5. This promotes smooth rotation with minimal heat build-up during operation.
As an open bearing without integrated seals, this component requires an external housing seal as well as lubrication with grease or oil as required. Lubricant can be supplied directly into the bearing interior during operation via the W33 circumferential groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring.
