The FAG 2200-TVH self-aligning ball bearing, measuring 10 × 30 × 14 mm, offers a compact solution for compensating for static and dynamic misalignments.
The double-row 2200-TVH self-aligning ball bearing transmits radial loads and automatically compensates for misalignment between the shaft and housing. Thanks to the shared hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring, the two rows of balls pivot smoothly. FAG manufactures this rolling bearing from standard bearing steel 100Cr6 in tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) with standard radial clearance. This open-type bearing runs smoothly and is suitable for designs with external seals.
This rolling bearing is suitable for designs where shaft deflection or misalignment between the bearing seats occurs. The spherical raceway compensates for misalignment without causing additional wear. With a bore of 10 mm, an outside diameter of 30 mm and a width of 14 mm, the double-row bearing absorbs radial forces whilst allowing the shaft to flex elastically under operational load.
The polyamide material gives the cage in the 2200 -TVH self-aligning ball bearing elasticity combined with low weight. As a result, the rolling element guidance operates quietly and with low friction. The open bearing allows direct lubricant supply via the housing within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Lubricating greases or oils must be compatible with the polyamide cage material.
With a bore of 10 mm, an outer diameter of 30 mm and a width of 14 mm, the bearing has compact dimensions. Thanks to this geometry, the double-row component can be fitted precisely into appropriately sized housing bores and shaft seats.
At FAG, the designation TVH refers to a solid polyamide cage mounted on ball bearings. This cage design is characterised by its low weight and smooth running characteristics. The component is specified for use at operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
The open design, which does not feature integrated sealing washers, allows for flexible lubricant selection directly via the surrounding machine housing. Lubricating oil or grease can reach the two rows of balls unimpeded. An external seal must be fitted to the bearing housing to protect it from dirt and moisture.
The inner surface of the outer ring forms a continuous hollow spherical surface. This allows the inner ring, cage and balls to tilt freely about the bearing centre within certain limits. The system compensates for angular misalignment caused by shaft deflection or inaccurate housing alignment whilst the bearing is in operation.
The component is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance; therefore, no separate clearance code is included in the designation. This standard bearing clearance accommodates typical mounting fits on cylindrical shafts at normal operating temperatures, ensuring that sufficient operating clearance remains after installation.
The raceways and rolling elements are made from fully hardened standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. This material offers high dimensional stability and compressive strength under radial loads. The bearings are manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
