The FAG 2310 -TVH-C3 angular contact ball bearing, with its hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, reliably compensates for angular misalignment with a 50 mm bore and an 110 mm outer diameter.
The 2310 -TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel for demanding industrial applications. Thanks to the common hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring, the bearing automatically compensates for shaft deflection or misalignment. This open design, 40 mm wide, features a lightweight polyamide cage and an increased radial clearance. It is manufactured to standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1.
It is primarily used where misalignment occurs between housing seats or where rotating shafts are subject to deflection. The design continuously compensates for misalignment during operation without causing any significant increase in friction. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees. As an open design, the bearing can be integrated into existing on-site lubrication circuits.
The suffix ‘TVH’ denotes a dimensionally stable polyamide cage. This material operates quietly and reduces the weight of the moving parts. The suffix ‘C3’ indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This radial clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from jamming if operational heating or tight fits cause the inner diameter to expand. Before assembly, suitable lubrication must be provided for the open design.
The main dimensions are a bore diameter of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 40 mm. These dimensions of double-row self-aligning ball bearings determine the installation space required within the machine housing. Before installation, the mounting dimensions of the surrounding components must be adapted to these dimensions.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard CN version. This increased clearance ensures reliable operation when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings, or when tight fits on the shaft reduce the radial internal clearance following press-fitting.
The letters TVH denote a polyamide cage. Compared with metal versions, the plastic cage is characterised by its low weight, smooth running and low noise levels. The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
The outer ring of the bearing has a continuous hollow spherical raceway. The two rows of balls in the inner ring can pivot freely within this spherical raceway. As a result, the bearing directly compensates for misalignment, alignment errors or deflection of rotating shafts without subjecting the rolling elements to excessive stress at the edges.
As this bearing is designed as an open type without integrated sealing washers, it does not come with factory-fitted permanent lubrication. Before commissioning, the bearing must be lubricated with roller bearing grease or gearbox oil. External housing seals help to prevent lubricant loss and the ingress of dirt.
This model meets the specifications of standard tolerance class P0 (also referred to as PN), which corresponds to the international standard ABEC 1. The dimensional and running surface tolerances are designed for industrial applications and ensure a precise fit on appropriately machined shafts.
