The FAG 2305 -2RS-TVH double-row self-aligning ball bearing, measuring 25x62x24 mm, compensates for angular misalignment and protects against the ingress of dirt on both sides.
The 2305 -2RS-TVH self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from case-hardened standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a common hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring. This design enables the bearing to automatically compensate for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation. With key dimensions of a 25 mm bore, 62 mm outside diameter and 24 mm width, the bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. Thanks to the 2RS seal, which is ground on both sides, the lubricant remains inside the bearing whilst foreign particles and moisture are kept out.
This double-row roller bearing is primarily used where misalignment between the shaft and housing may occur. Typical applications include mountings with long shafts where deflection occurs or where housing misalignment is structurally unavoidable. Thanks to the sliding seals on both sides, the bearing is particularly suitable for dusty or damp industrial environments. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +100 degrees Celsius. The seals keep out dirt particles and ensure trouble-free operation.
The TVH version features a polyamide cage that guides the rolling elements. Polyamide reduces weight, minimises running noise and effectively absorbs elastic shock loads. The suffix 2RS indicates seals that make contact on both sides, ensuring that the grease remains within the bearing. As this model has a standard radial clearance, it is suitable for standard fits without exceptional thermal expansion. Before installation, check that the operating temperature falls within the limits of -30 to +100 degrees.
With an internal diameter of 25 mm, an external diameter of 62 mm and a width of 24 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions. The roller bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) with a standard cylindrical inner ring.
The abbreviation TVH refers to a polyamide cage used to guide the balls. This plastic cage is characterised by its low weight, good sliding properties and quiet operation. The component is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +100 degrees Celsius.
Seals fitted on both sides (2RS) make contact with the inner ring and protect the interior of the bearing from dirt and moisture. At the same time, the sealing lips prevent the grease from leaking uncontrollably out of the bearing housing.
Self-aligning ball bearings feature a continuous hollow spherical raceway in the outer ring. The two rows of balls can move freely within this spherical zone, together with the inner ring. Any misalignment between the inner and outer rings caused by shaft deflection therefore does not result in harmful edge stresses.
When fitted with standard radial bearing clearance, the roller bearing provides a defined radial clearance between the balls and raceways when unloaded. Standard bearing clearance is suitable for normal installation conditions without significant temperature differences between the shaft and the housing.
The rings and rolling elements are made from fully hardened standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. This material offers high wear resistance and dimensional stability. In combination with the polyamide cage and the 2RS seal, the unit is suitable for a temperature range of -30 to +100 degrees Celsius.
