The 2213-TVH self-aligning ball bearing (65 x 120 x 31 mm) compensates for misalignment and guides two rows of balls with low vibration within a lightweight polyamide cage.
The double-row self-aligning ball bearing 2213 -TVH is an open rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a 65 mm cylindrical bore. Thanks to the shared hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring, this design automatically compensates for both static and dynamic misalignments between the shaft and housing. The bearing has an outer diameter of 120 mm and a width of 31 mm. For designers and maintenance engineers, the standard version in tolerance class P0/PN offers defined running characteristics in industrial drives.
The 2213 -TVH self-aligning ball bearing is primarily used on long shafts where operational deflection or misalignment occurs. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering and in industrial shaft bearings. Thanks to its double-row ball arrangement, the bearing absorbs radial forces and accommodates misalignment without increased edge pressure. The open design allows for flexible lubrication with grease or lubricating oil, depending on the system’s requirements.
The TVH suffix denotes a solid polyamide cage which guides the rolling elements with low vibration and reduces the overall weight of the bearing. The material promotes smooth running and is suitable for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As this is an open bearing, users select the lubricant to suit the specific environmental conditions and provide external seals to protect against contamination.
With an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 120 mm and a width of 31 mm, the bearing complies with standard key dimensions. Thanks to these dimensions, the double-row roller bearing fits into standardised housing bores and is suitable as a spare part or for new designs in mechanical engineering.
At FAG, the designation ‘TVH’ refers to a solid polyamide cage. This cage material is characterised by low friction, low weight and good vibration damping. The material is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius and ensures the balls run smoothly during operation.
The hollow-spherical outer ring raceway forms the geometric centre of the bearing. This allows the inner ring and the two rows of balls to pivot freely away from the centre position in the event of shaft deflection or misalignment. The component compensates for angular misalignment during operation without subjecting the raceways to impermissible edge loads.
Manufactured with a standard radial bearing clearance, this bearing is suitable for typical fit selections and standard operating conditions. The bearing clearance determines the radial play of the balls between the rings. It serves to compensate for thermal expansion caused by heat build-up during operation and to prevent the rolling elements from becoming jammed.
As an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, the component requires an external supply of lubricant – either grease or lubricating oil – as well as suitable housing seals. The choice of lubricant depends on the operating temperature and speed. The lubricant protects the working surfaces, which are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), against wear and corrosion.
Manufactured to standard tolerance P0 or PN (corresponding to tolerance class ABEC 1), this component offers a standardised fit for standard industrial drives. The tolerance class ensures a dimensionally accurate fit when mounted on a cylindrical shaft with a diameter of 65 mm.
