The FAG 2211 -K-TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing, measuring 55x100x25 mm, compensates for misalignment and allows for flexible installation.
The 2211 -K-TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing absorbs radial forces and automatically compensates for misalignment between the shaft and housing. As a double-row rolling bearing, this design features a common hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring. This enables the two rows of balls to compensate for misalignment or shaft deflection during operation without edge pressures occurring. Manufactured from 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel and toleranced to tolerance class P0, this open bearing is primarily used in applications where external lubrication is supplied via the housing.
The 2211 -K-TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing is particularly suitable for shaft mountings where misalignment or load-induced deflection needs to be compensated for. Thanks to the spherical raceway in the outer ring, the bearing automatically adapts to angular misalignment. This prevents unacceptable edge pressures in long shaft runs. The open design without sealing washers allows for a free choice of lubricant via the machine housing and covers operating temperatures from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12 facilitates mounting on cylindrical shafts with shrink sleeves or on appropriately machined tapered seats. The axial displacement can be used to determine the interference fit of the inner ring. The increased radial clearance (C3) helps to ensure that sufficient operating clearance is maintained even after the inner ring has expanded during tightening. A polyamide cage (TVH) guides the rolling elements in a vibration-damping and low-noise manner within the permissible temperature range.
With a tapered bore of 55 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm, this roller bearing corresponds to the dimensions of bearing 2211. The double-row design requires an axial mounting width of 25 mm. Before fitting, check the mating surfaces in the housing and on the shaft.
The designation ‘K’ indicates a tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. This design allows for flexible mounting on cylindrical shafts using a clamping sleeve or directly onto a suitable tapered journal. The tight fit of the inner ring can be adjusted by axial displacement during clamping.
Bearing clearance class C3 offers greater radial bearing clearance than the standard version. In bearings with a tapered bore, the bearing clearance is reduced when the inner ring is pressed into place. The increased bearing clearance compensates for this displacement as well as for temperature differences between the inner and outer rings caused by operation.
The suffix ‘TVH’ indicates a polyamide cage. This thermoplastic material is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties during operation. The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements and is designed for operating temperatures between –30 and +120 degrees Celsius.
As this self-aligning ball bearing is manufactured as an open design without integrated seals, grease or lubricating oil is supplied externally via the housing. This allows users to select the lubricant and lubrication intervals to suit the speed, operating temperature and environmental conditions of the machine in question.
The bearing complies with tolerance class P0, also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1. This class specifies limit dimensions for the bore, the outer diameter and concentricity. It meets the requirements of general mechanical and plant engineering and enables coordinated fits.
