The FAG 2210 -K-TVH-C3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing (50x90x23 mm) compensates for misalignment and has a tapered bore with C3 clearance.
The FAG 2210 -K-TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a common hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring. This design dynamically compensates for misalignment between the inner and outer rings. With dimensions of 50 mm bore, 90 mm outer diameter and 23 mm width, the bearing accommodates radial forces. It is suitable for applications where shaft deflection or misalignment occurs.
This self-aligning ball bearing is primarily used on long shafts or in split housings where misalignment occurs as a result of the design. Thanks to the hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, the two rows of balls self-align angularly without causing excessive edge pressure. Typical applications include bearing arrangements prone to misalignment or shaft deflection. As this is an open bearing, the lubricant can be flexibly adapted to the specific operating environment.
The suffix ‘K’ denotes a tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12, which allows for mounting on tapered shaft seats or using a shrink sleeve. The polyamide cage (TVH) guides the balls with low friction and ensures smooth running within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The slightly increased radial clearance (C3) compensates for the reduced clearance following press-fitting onto the tapered seat and accommodates thermal expansion during operation.
This roller bearing has a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm. It complies with the Normal tolerance class (P0/PN or ABEC 1). The double-row bearing is manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel to ensure high dimensional stability under radial loads.
The tapered bore, with a ratio of 1:12, is designed for mounting on a tapered shaft or, using a suitable adapter sleeve, on cylindrical shafts. When the inner ring is slid onto the shaft, the bearing clearance is precisely adjusted, which makes dismantling and replacement easier during repairs.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard clearance CN. This additional clearance is useful for bearings with a tapered bore, as the radial clearance is reduced due to the tight fit resulting from axial pressing. Furthermore, C3 compensates for larger temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
The abbreviation TVH refers to a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by low friction and quiet operation. The permissible temperature range for this version is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. At higher operating temperatures, versions with metal cages are preferable.
This is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers. To prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture and to keep the lubricant within the bearing chamber, the bearing housing must be fitted with external seals. Furthermore, the open design requires regular lubrication with grease or oil.
The outer ring has a continuous, hollow-spherical ground raceway on which the two rows of balls, together with the inner ring, can tilt freely. This enables the self-aligning bearing to compensate for misalignments caused by shaft deflection or housing mounting inaccuracies without any additional edge pressures occurring.
