The FAG 2206 -2RS-TVH self-aligning ball bearing compensates for misalignment during operation and, with dimensions of 30 × 62 × 20 mm and seals on both sides, protects against contamination.
The FAG 2206 -2RS-TVH self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a common hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring. This design enables the two rows of balls to automatically compensate for angular misalignment and deflection of rotating shafts. Fitted with seals that rub against the raceway on both sides, the bearing keeps contaminants out of the interior. With a bore of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a width of 20 mm, the unit is suitable for demanding applications in industrial mechanical engineering.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians opt for this double-row bearing when misalignment between bearing seats or shaft deflection occurs. Thanks to the spherical outer ring raceway, the component compensates for misalignment during operation. The 2RS contact seal protects the rolling elements from ingress of particles and splash water. As a result, the rolling bearing is particularly suitable for use in shaft mountings where exposure to dirt and elastic shaft deflections occur simultaneously.
The -2RS-TVH variant combines mechanical protection with smooth-running characteristics. Abrasive sealing lips seal off the bearing interior on both sides and protect the contact surfaces from environmental influences. The lightweight polyamide cage reduces the rotating mass of the guiding elements and contributes to quiet operation. Manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance and in tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), the component can be fitted directly into standard bearing seats with standard fits.
This double-row roller bearing has a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a total width of 20 mm. Both the standard inner ring and the outer ring are designed for cylindrical shaft seats.
The outer ring features a continuous, hollow spherical raceway for both rows of balls. The inner ring, together with the rolling element set, can tilt about the bearing centre within this ball zone. This enables the bearing to compensate for misalignments and elastic deflections of the rotating shaft during operation without edge pressure.
The suffix 2RS indicates abiding seals fitted on both sides, which protect the interior of the bearing from dirt and moisture. The abbreviation TVH stands for a polyamide cage, which guides the balls precisely and ensures low-vibration operation.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +100 degrees. This operating range is limited by the materials used for the abiding sealing lips and the polyamide cage. Within this range, the components retain their dimensional stability.
The normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard clearance between the balls and the raceways when the bearing is unmounted. With conventional fit selections for the shaft and housing, as well as moderate temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, this basic setting is entirely sufficient to prevent seizing during operation.
The bearing rings and balls are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This material is characterised by its strength and dimensional stability. The ball retainer is made of polyamide.
