The FAG 2306 -K-TVH-C3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing compensates for misalignment and, with dimensions of 30 × 72 × 27 mm and a tapered bore, offers flexible mounting options.
The 2306 -K-TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing with a hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, which automatically compensates for shaft deflection and misalignment. With key dimensions of a 30 mm bore diameter, 72 mm outer diameter and 27 mm width, the bearing primarily accommodates radial loads. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 in tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), it is suitable for bearing arrangements where operational angular misalignments need to be compensated for.
The 2306 -K-TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements with long shafts or flexible housing structures where misalignment or deflection occurs. Thanks to the shared hollow-spherical raceway of both rows of balls in the outer ring, the design compensates for both static and dynamic angular misalignments during operation without unduly increasing friction on the raceways.
The tapered bore with a 1:12 taper allows for precise mounting on stepped shafts or, using a clamping sleeve, on smooth shaft sections. The increased radial clearance (C3) compensates for the reduction in radial clearance that occurs when the inner ring is press-fitted axially onto the tapered bearing seat, and also accommodates thermal expansion within a temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The integrated polyamide cage (TVH) guides the rolling elements with low vibration and elasticity. As an open bearing, this design requires an external housing seal as well as targeted lubrication with oil or rolling-element grease suitable for your operating conditions.
This roller bearing has a bore of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 27 mm. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, the double-row bearing fits precisely into corresponding housing bores and is suitable for bearing locations subject to combined loads.
The abbreviation ‘K’ denotes a tapered bore in the inner ring with a standardised ratio of 1:12. This design facilitates fitting onto smooth shafts using a suitable clamping or withdrawal sleeve, or allows the ring to sit directly on a tapered shaft journal.
The C3 bearing clearance has greater radial clearance than the standard version. When mounting tapered roller bearings on sleeves or shaft journals, the internal bearing clearance is reduced due to the elastic expansion of the inner ring. The increased bearing clearance helps to ensure that the required operating clearance is maintained after tightening.
The TVH cage is made of polyamide, which keeps the rolling elements evenly spaced and ensures quiet, smooth running. During operation, this type of cage operates within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius and is characterised by its low weight.
As this bearing is not fitted with any cover plates or sealing washers at the factory, the lubricant reaches the balls and raceways directly. Depending on the system design, lubrication is carried out using grease or oil. An external seal on the housing protects the open bearing from contamination and prevents the uncontrolled leakage of lubricant.
The self-aligning ball bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification in the Anglo-American region. This tolerance class covers the standard dimensional and concentricity tolerances required for general mechanical engineering and ensures a precise fit on the shaft and housing.
