The FAG 1306 -TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing compensates for misalignment caused by shaft deflection and, with dimensions of 30 × 72 × 19 mm, is suitable for angularly adjustable mountings.
The FAG 1306 -TVH-C3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing is designed for mounting positions where misalignment or elastic shaft deflection occurs. Thanks to the shared hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring, the rolling bearing adjusts to angular movement. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 in tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), this open bearing is suitable for designs with separate lubrication and sealing.
This self-aligning ball bearing is particularly suitable for bearing arrangements with long shafts or split housings, where misalignment between the inner and outer rings is unavoidable due to operational conditions. The double-row bearing accommodates radial loads and automatically compensates for misalignment. Within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees, the open version operates under thermal stresses in industrial applications.
The suffix TVH denotes the polyamide cage, which ensures quiet running and reduces friction between the rolling elements. The increased radial clearance (C3) provides more radial play in the initial state compared with standard clearance. This clearance accommodates thermal expansion during operation or radial compression in tight fits without the bearing becoming stressed.
The bearing has two rows of balls and a continuous hollow-spherical outer ring raceway. This allows the inner ring, cage and balls to pivot freely within the outer ring, within certain limits, in order to automatically compensate for misalignment or shaft deflection.
The roller bearing has a cylindrical bore of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. These measurements define the standard dimensions for the double-row self-aligning ball bearing.
The C3 radial bearing clearance is above the standard range. It serves to prevent the rolling elements from jamming when tight fits cause the inner ring to expand or when operational temperature differences between the shaft and housing reduce the bearing clearance.
The polyamide cage is characterised by good damping properties and low mass. It guides the two rows of balls smoothly and ensures quiet operation within the operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
As this is an open design without integrated sealing washers, the bearing requires external sealing of the housing environment. Lubrication is carried out via the housing, either with a suitable rolling-element bearing grease or lubricating oil, in accordance with the operating instructions.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. This precision class is the standard for general mechanical engineering applications with a cylindrical shaft fit.
