The 2201-TVH double-row self-aligning ball bearing with a 12 mm bore compensates for misalignment and operates quietly thanks to its polyamide cage.
The 2201-TVH self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row radial rolling bearing made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel. Thanks to the spherical, hollow-ball raceway in the outer ring, the bearing automatically self-aligns in the event of shaft deflection or misalignment. With compact key dimensions of 12 mm inner diameter and 32 mm outer diameter, and a width of 14 mm, this FAG model is suitable for machine designs with limited installation space.
This design is intended for rotating shafts where manufacturing-related misalignments between housing seats or elastic deflection under load need to be compensated for. The bearing primarily absorbs radial forces and can also support moderate axial loads in both directions. The double-row ball arrangement distributes the applied loads evenly across the two raceways of the inner ring.
The suffix ‘TVH’ indicates a polyamide cage that reliably guides the rolling elements. This material is characterised by its low weight and reduces operating noise compared to conventional sheet steel cages. The component is designed for a temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees. Due to its open design without integrated sealing washers, the bearing is intended for external housing seals and for lubrication with oil or rolling-element bearing grease.
This roller bearing has a cylindrical bore of 12 mm, an outer diameter of 32 mm and a total width of 14 mm. These dimensions comply with the standard series for double-row self-aligning bearings, ensuring straightforward replacement in existing assemblies.
The letter combination TVH denotes a version with a polyamide cage. This material reduces friction losses and ensures smooth ball movement. The cage can withstand operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees when used with suitable lubricants.
The outer ring of the bearing has a continuous hollow spherical inner surface on which the two rows of balls can move freely. If the shaft tilts due to static tolerances or dynamic deflection, the ball assembly, together with the inner ring, pivots within the outer ring without any edge pressure.
This product is an open design without integrated sealing washers. The bearing assembly requires application-specific lubrication with oil or grease, as well as protection against the ingress of contaminants via the surrounding housing.
The component is manufactured with the standard radial bearing clearance, which is designed for common machine applications. The dimensional and running accuracy complies with tolerance class P0 (standard tolerance class PN or ABEC 1), which ensures a precise fit on the 12 mm shaft.
