The FAG 1202-tvh-c3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing automatically compensates for misalignment and, with its polyamide cage and C3 clearance, offers smooth running with an outer diameter of 35 mm.
The 1202-tvh-c3 self-aligning ball bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel for industrial shaft mountings. Thanks to the shared hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring, the bearing automatically adjusts to shaft deflection. This open design, with a cylindrical bore and a width of 11 mm, is suitable for applications where the lubricant is supplied directly via the surrounding housing. The component meets the requirements for angular contact bearings in general mechanical engineering.
The double-row design is primarily used to accommodate shaft deflection or misalignment between bearing positions. As the balls can tilt on the spherical outer ring raceway, the component counteracts edge pressures on the raceways. This reduces internal friction and protects the bearing seats during dynamic angular deviations in operation. Designs featuring elastically yielding shafts or manufacturing-related axial misalignments benefit from this design-related angular compensation.
The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance. This internal clearance between the rolling elements and raceways prevents seizing when temperature differences occur between the shaft and housing, or when tight fits cause the inner ring to expand. The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements quietly and with low vibration. It withstands thermal loads from -30 to +120 °C and, due to its open design, requires an external lubrication supply with suitable grease or bearing oil.
Thanks to the hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, the double-row bearing automatically compensates for angular misalignment and shaft deflection. The polyamide cage guides the balls with low friction and vibration damping. The slightly increased radial clearance (C3) provides thermal compensation during continuous operation.
With an outside diameter of 35 mm and a width of 11 mm, the bearing is compact in design. The cylindrical bore allows the inner ring to be mounted directly onto a cylindrical shaft with the appropriate tolerances.
C3 denotes increased radial clearance compared with standard bearings. This reserve compensates for thermal differences between the inner and outer rings and helps to prevent the component from becoming distorted when heated or when fitted with a tight interference fit.
Polyamide cages are characterised by their low weight, damping properties and reduced friction on the rolling elements. They ensure quiet operation within the permissible temperature range and can withstand dynamic loads.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 °C. This range is limited by the temperature-resistant standard roller bearing steel and the thermoplastic polyamide cage. The lubricant must be selected to suit this temperature range.
As this self-aligning ball bearing is of an open design without sealing washers, the lubricant is supplied via the bearing housing. A regular supply of rolling-bearing grease or oil protects the raceways from wear and corrosion.
