The FAG 1210 -K-TVH-C3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing (50x90x20 mm) compensates for misalignment and is suitable for shaft mounting with shrink sleeves.
The FAG 1210 -K-TVH-C3 from FAG is an open roller bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with the main dimensions of 50 mm bore, 90 mm outer diameter and 20 mm width. Thanks to the shared hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring, the design compensates for both static and dynamic angular misalignment and shaft deflection during operation. It is manufactured to the Normal tolerance class (P0/PN or ABEC 1). This provides maintenance engineers and technical purchasers with a precisely fitting bearing for bearing locations affected by misalignment.
This double-row self-aligning ball bearing is primarily designed for mounting long shafts or those prone to deflection, where misalignment may occur between the bearing housings. Typical applications include mechanical assemblies and shaft mountings where housing inaccuracies or elastic shaft deformations need to be compensated for. Thanks to the polyamide cage (TVH), the bearing operates with low friction at operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The open design also allows for flexible lubrication with oil or grease directly within the housing.
The tapered bore with a 1:12 taper simplifies mounting on cylindrical shafts using a clamping or withdrawal sleeve, which facilitates installation and removal during maintenance. As sliding the inner ring onto the sleeve reduces the bearing clearance, the 1210 -K-TVH-C3 self-aligning ball bearing is supplied ex-works with a slightly increased radial clearance (C3). This increased initial clearance compensates for expansion during assembly and thermal expansion during operation, thereby ensuring smooth running without harmful preload.
With a bore diameter of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm, this roller bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions. It is designed as a double-row bearing and complies with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1).
TVH denotes a polyamide cage. This material allows the rolling elements to move with low friction along the raceways. The permissible temperature range for this polyamide cage in continuous operation is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
C3 denotes a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard clearance. As this bearing has a tapered bore and is often mounted on a mounting sleeve, the radial clearance is reduced during press-fitting. The C3 bearing clearance serves to prevent the operating clearance from becoming too tight after assembly.
Fitting onto smooth shafts is usually carried out using a suitable adapter sleeve and groove nut. Alternatively, the bearing can be mounted directly onto a tapered shaft journal with a taper ratio of 1:12. The measurable reduction in radial clearance serves as an indicator of the correct fit.
The inner ring, outer ring and balls are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This case-hardened chrome steel offers high dimensional stability under load. The cage is made of polyamide, which means the bearing is designed for operating temperatures between –30 and +120 degrees Celsius.
As an open roller bearing, this design does not feature any integrated sealing washers. To protect the bearing from contamination and lubricant loss, it is intended for installation in a sealed bearing housing fitted with shaft seals or labyrinth seals. Lubrication is carried out using grease or oil, depending on requirements.
