The 1315-M double-row self-aligning ball bearing compensates for misalignment, measures 75 x 160 x 37 mm and features a brass cage for demanding industrial applications.
The 1315-M self-aligning ball bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings is a double-row rolling bearing with a hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, which automatically compensates for misalignment between the inner and outer rings. With a bore of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm, this bearing is suitable for shafts subject to misalignment or deflection. The open component is made of 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and is suitable for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
Designs with long shafts are prone to elastic deflection or misalignment between the bearing positions under operational loads. In such cases, the 1315-M self-aligning ball bearing guides the rotating parts, as the two rows of balls can adjust freely within the spherical outer ring. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering as well as in conveyor and drive systems. Thanks to the open design, you can flexibly adapt the lubricant to the respective operating environment.
The suffix ‘-M’ indicates a brass cage that guides the rolling elements. Brass cages are characterised by high strength and prove particularly effective in the presence of vibrations or at higher operating temperatures up to +150 degrees. Brass offers excellent dimensional stability under mechanical stress. When fitting the open bearing, ensure a clean installation environment and a suitable lubrication scheme, as no sealing washers are fitted as standard.
The roller bearing has a cylindrical bore of 75 mm. The outer diameter is 160 mm with a width of 37 mm. These standardised dimensions comply with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 and allow for a precise fit in standard housings and on shafts with the appropriate tolerances.
The abbreviation -M indicates a brass cage. This type of cage maintains the dimensional stability of the balls in both rows and withstands mechanical forces and vibrations. Furthermore, brass is suitable for thermally demanding environments within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
The inner raceway of the outer ring is shaped as a continuous hollow spherical surface. This allows the assembly comprising the inner ring, brass cage and the two rows of balls to pivot freely within the outer ring. The component automatically compensates for any misalignment between the shaft and the bearing housing during operation.
The bearing has standard radial clearance (often referred to as CN). This standard clearance provides the necessary radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways under normal mounting conditions and at normal operating temperatures. It serves to prevent the bearing from becoming stressed during normal operation.
As the 1315-M version is manufactured without integrated seals, the bearing housing must be sealed externally via the casing. Depending on the requirements and speed, apply grease or lubricating oil before commissioning. The open design allows you to select a lubricant specifically suited to your design.
The component, made from 100Cr6 roller bearing steel with a brass cage, is designed for temperatures between -30 and +150 degrees. When selecting the lubricant and the external sealing elements, you must ensure that these components meet the same thermal requirements as the operating environment.
